Bookkeeping Kit For Dummies

I rarely take the time to write a review but in this case I feel compelled. I cannot agree more strongly about the errors in the book that other reviewers have pointed out. It is very frustrating to try to understand a nonintuitive concept such as credits/debits when there are errors sprinkled in the explanations. Whoever edited this book should be fired. There are sample questions and answers which are fine, but the only reason I can fathom why they must be separated by a number of pages is to piss me off. Flipping back and forth from question to answer on a Kindle is very annoying. I searched both the publisher's and author's web pages for a list of errata to help with errors but was unsuccessful. If anyone can help in this regard or with a suggestion of a better book, I would be grateful.

it helped me understand the basics (i first tried accounting but it assumed i knew more than i did- filled in the gaps.) i only gave it a 3 because i needed it for an agricultural business and it didn't warn me that lots of things would be different. that screwed me over a bit.

The book is not what I expected. But it is a good introduction to bookkeeping. It is just an overview of bookkeeping. Would like to see better real life examples.

useful for a beginner

I certainly felt like a bookkeeping dummy, this book has helped rid my brain of those thoughts! Easy tips and tricks, much knowledgeable information and more packed in this user friendly book.

Tells you everything you need to know. I would highly recommend it to someone starting book keeping or needs a refresher or wants to see if they can improve.
