Ease of use: the app connects with Bluetooth and requires a little work to figure out how to program and change the program. Once you’ve set your program you can easily change days of the week, watering minutes and time of day. You can also water manually directly from the app without changing the program. Reliability: it has never failed - it warned me when a battery replacement was necessary. I have had to replace the battery once since purchasing it. Accuracy: to the minute. Always.

This integrates nicely into Home Assistant which is what I was after. The app is a bit clunky, and these can be a pain to set up initially. Make sure you have the Gen 2 hub. It won't work with anything else! These have issues where they sometimes don't report battery level properly, and then won't work. You have to factory reset them by pressing the button on the timer 5 times, and then re-set it up to fix the issue. This was a pain in the butt, but now that I know how to fix it, it doesn't bother me anymore.

this worked great for watering our garden, i used it for the drip lines I setup. fantastic little thing! paired with my b-hyve sprinkler system.

Update - 06/19/24 - Today this failed in the ON potion. Lost connection and stayed in the on position, plants/area where they are was flooded when I got home. Terrible product, do not purchase! It can't be trusted. While it does work for the most part, there is one major problem. Every time it turns on and waters the app tells me the valve didn't open, even though it did. Support told me to ignore it since it is watering properly. That doesn't work! If I ignore that and it does it every time I'll never know if there is a real problem. Could not believe support told me to just ignore it.

Not very happy with the Gen 2. I have the original orbit smart timer. Works perfectly. This one I've had problem after problem with it. It keeps disconnecting. Wants me to restart it with Bluetooth when I'm 500 mi away. When I am at the house, no problem. I set it up exactly it is instructed. Unfortunately I won't be back at the house for another 2 weeks and it will be past the time to send back. So kind of a waste of money. Not easy to use at all. Maybe it's just this unit

Wanted to get away from manual timers so bought one 4- port timer to try out. Love it bought 2-more! So easy using the app. These timers work so good I took out my whole system and started over, what great timers.

The standalone 90205Z that ships by itself does support the Bluetooth to Wi-Fi hub. I bought my hub years earlier with the flood sensor starter kit. The 1 star reviewers should have called support to figure this out. One thing to note is that I did update the firmware on Bluetooth before I connected it to the hub, so maybe there was a bug on older firmware that was causing issues. So far, the smart water scheduling is awesome! I do hope that they last, as I have an older non-smart orbit timer that has 3 bad solenoids of the 4.

For any Australian buyers this does have an NPT thread and needs a GHT (BSP) adapter. It does come with a quick connect fitting for the hose though. Runs well with the V2 hub and seems to have better bluetooth range than my XD (could be imagining it)

Adding this to my b-hyve ecosystem. Wanted to add another zone after the fact of running my lines under concrete. I currently have a 4 way main b-hyve and off of 1 of the zones I used this single line with another single line unit to split it into 2, programmed to have the main 4 way open the valve and the same time open only 1 single valve for the 1 existing zone and then have the other single valve open after for the new zone 2. So sometimes the most best laid out plans do not always work out but this helped address it and worked very well.
