Great size for a family of 5-6. First arrived broken in two places. Short handle?
You can see from the pic that it offers 50% more cooking area than the standard basket. We easily cooked eight chicken thighs over the fire this week. For our family of five, being able to cook six burgers at the same time is a huge bonus. The wire gauge is clearly larger than the competitor. However, the first unit arrived broken in two places. And the clip that slides down to hold it together is very difficult to work. I had to hammer it down. Plus the handle is very short. So short I don't think you'd be able to hold your hand close enough to cook over the center of the fire. I just rested mine on the flip over grate on the campsite fire pit. With Amazon's easy return policy you might role the dice and get a good one.

Great for grilling pineapple and asparagus
I used this Grill Basket while I was camping. It fit easily on the charcoal camp-grill. We loaded it with pineapple one day and asparagus the other. The grill basket made it so easy to flip!

Nice basket
I use this to grill asparagus and other vegetables that I don't want to flip on the grill with tongs or a spatula. This works great as I can flip the whole basket over at one time. The biggest problem is even with the handle sticking out of the front of the grill it still gets way too hot to touch with out a grill glove. It would have been nice if the handle was a little longer to avoid this issue. It does well in the dishwasher so that makes it easy to clean!

Grills fish well enough, but did have a couple issues. Unsure if that's actually normal
This grilling basket is made of stainless steel, and is divided and hinged in half in the middle. It has a handle with an oval shaped, sliding, metal ring. This ring is supposed to lock the 2 halves of the basket closed together, so that the food inside can be grilled and flipped over without it falling out. Technically, it does do this. But for this specific basket we had received, the ring does not originally have the correct formed shape to properly do this, and simply would not fit. Instead, we had to slightly bend the ring again, so that it could slide over the metal tabs of the 2 halves of the basket, to lock them together. Even then, it was difficult to force the ring into position. So then we tested it with a piece of fish that properly fit inside the basket without blocking it from properly closing. And then, after all that, when we flipped the basket to it's other side, the metal ring immediately came loose, allowing the basket halves to pop open. Luckily, we did not lose any fish. But we easily could have. So now, we will have to further modify the metal ring to attempt to get it to work correctly. If this won't work this way, then we will have to resort to using another metal clip. Which is annoying as we shouldn't have to do that. Now, I don't know how common that issue might be for this specific type of product. Maybe it almost never happens and I just got lucky. Or maybe that's just a trait of this type of product. I don't know.Either way, after we finished grilling the fish, we brought it in the house to remove it from the grill basket. Upon unlocking and opening the basket, half the fish fillet remained on the original half of the basket that we had put it on. The other half of the fish fillet was stuck onto the other half of the basket, and therefore moved with it. So again, I don't know how common that result is for this kind of grill basket. But that's the result this time. Fortunately, this scenario had almost no effect on the whole fish fillet winding up together once again on my dinner plate. We simply ended up having to spatula scrape fish fillet off both sides, instead of just one side, of the grill basket. Still mildly annoying, though.Only real downfall of this "fish fillet stuck on both sides" scenario, was that a small amount of fish meat got stuck inside and between the wire mesh of both sides of the basket as a result. Aside from using foil as a basket liner, which I feel would defeat the purpose of using this basket to begin with, I dont know how to avoid this. Butter and oil just burns away on the high heat of a grill. So once again, I don't know if this is an unavoidable issue, or just a common scenario, or if it can be reasonably avoided, or if I'm just that lucky. I don't know if there is a trick to avoiding that or not. It's not the worst issue ever, but it is mildly annoying.Aside from all that, yes, the basket itself does work well to grill the fish, or other flat shaped foods. No noticeable signs of peeling, chipping, flaking metal, etc., and no signs of red hot glow, or anything close to that. The handle does reduce heat, but not necessarily get completely rid of all heat. Depends on how hot your fire is, too, for the heat reduction. So the basket is good quality material, but perhaps might benefit from some minor design adjustments. Maybe. Unless I really am just that lucky, or somehow managed to miss something. Therefore, since there is a little bit of uncertaintly regarding the exact nature of, or reason for, this series of issues, I won't be too harsh in my star rating, as that would be a bit premature and unfair. 4 out of 5 stars.

It does what it should
I like that the grid spaces are just the right size to allow even grilling, yet keep smaller food pieces from falling out. I tried grilling a burger (pattied up without egg in the mix to create a possible crumble situation) as a test and it worked just fine! Grill basket is great for its primary purpose - fish - and also does a fantastic job with veggies, potatoes. Pretty easily cleaned, though I’d recommend a good kitchen brush scrub to get the grease and cooked food juices loose. Great size - fits even on a small 15” grill space, can hold 2 salmon fillets at once. Very pPeased with this grill basket.

Not as convenient as it should be
This is a great idea but not the best design on this one where the handle is concerned. First off this doesn’t look like picture advertised. It has a cheap round metal ring to hold pieces together. The round ring has to slide over one of the handle pieces to keep it closed, unfortunately it’s too small to slide over both and when it slides over one like it’s supposed to it doesn’t hold well and a slight tilt can make the ring slide down and off the handle.Everything else works great. Gave the rack a light oil coating and pork chops cooked beautifully. Clean up was a breeze too.Wooden part of handle didn’t hold up well and we will probably be fashioning a different ring to hold this better. Okay for the price but the design needs a lot of work.

Easy to use
This foldable grilling basket is made of stainless steel. The quality is good that I can feel and touch. It’s thick. Thicker than the one I have. I like how the handle is detachable and can close up by the ring there. We often do barbecue and we always do the sticks type with this basket is much easier now. All I have to do is cut the food the right size to fit the basket. It’s really easy to flip over and not get the food burned. And the basket wires don’t get burned too much and turning red like it’s gonna melt. And I like how the handle is heat resistant.

Great grill tool
I had something similar to this that looks more like a pan with holes in it, but it didnt work the best for some foods, like trying to roast potatos in it would tear them up or burn them. This holds everything still and doesnt hold heat, making it great for delicate foods like fish.
