Love that you can choose different temperature settings for different teas. Now I don't scald my green teas! Good quality and capacity. Has a keep warm feature, too.

I bought the first cool retro looking tea kettle I could find for $25ish. First use I burned my finger slightly on the handle. Kicked myself for buying on looks and not quality. Started a search which went about a month. I would decide on a type, do the research, read hundreds of reviews and would ultimately drop my decision and try another type/style. Did that several times before settling on glass. This is the only one I found with a double glass pitcher that is safe to touch when water is boiling. Large pitcher, super ease of use, great looking, boils super fast, comfortable to hold/pour. You do have to set the keep warn setting each time you pick it up but that is not biggie, I am sure that is a safety feature. The absolute best of the best I could find and I looked at hundreds of tea kettles. Well worth it.

I bought this to replace the Hamilton Beach K-60 kettle I've used multiple times daily for the last 7 years. (That one just started acting up, but might actually just need the contacts cleaned with alcohol swabs.)This Plaman kettle works perfectly! I'd like to address some of the issues other reviewers have mentioned. For those unfamiliar with physics, water does not actually stop boiling on a dime once the On Light clicks off. Yes, the water will continue to boil for 20 seconds or so. (That complaint was a real source of amusement, so thanks for that.) Secondly, if the inside bottom of your kettle looks tarnished, speckled, or imperfect you have only your water to blame. Try boiling a couple of tablespoons of TAP water in ANY vessel. You will always see the residue of the crap that's in tap. I've always used purified water and - as proven by my 7-year-old kettle - the inside still looks as shiny as the day I bought it. If you choose not to use purified or spring water, just boil your kettle with diluted white vinegar once a week and that should keep stains at bay.I got really used to the temperature settings on my old kettle, which is why I duplicated that feature with this one. I also like that this one has a flip lid, as opposed to my old kettle which had a removable lid. I used to have to make sure to lay the lid down on a clean towel while I was refilling and then replace it.I got my Plaman kettle with the black accent because I wasn't sure how dull/bright/true the offered colors were going to be, but I really love how many color choices there are. I'm very pleased!

Instructions say before use boil a full amount 2-3 times before use. The first pot boils fine. The second pot and all tries after makes the water nice and warm before it beeps with all the temp control buttons flashing (the boil dry protection even though it was full?)The instructions make note of a one year warranty but no information in how to contact them. I would have done that before writing a review in case I was doing something wrong but can't

Selected specifically for the ability to keep hot water warm. Admit it is wasteful use of resources (electricity) to keep a pot of hot water near boiling point for hours. And in my case with the highest cost of electricity in the USA it is expensive too. However, at least where I live now electricity is included in my rent. Not a good reason necessarily to waste resources but it isn't something like leaving an oven on for hours LOL.I had the cheapest electric kettle I could find and it died after a year of often twice daily use.I wish I had a use for the variable temperature selections with this one. It was an expensive choice for this expected disposable commodities we are in now. 😔 I purchased one before and sadly it too died in a relatively short time. I blame the keep hot for hours frankly. However, again with the difficulty finding a electric kettle that will keep hot for hours and other than don't expect a new one to last any longer, overall like this one enough to immediately purchase a second one. Disposable commodity Society is what it is. 😒I like the light indicating is on and bright enough to see during daylight, I only have to glance at it versus look closely for the light. If replaced on the pad quickly enough it will retain its settings. It is made quite well in my opinion or doesn't feel cheap.I requested not shipping in just manufacturers boxing, shipping really takes a toll on products I haven't. (Also a waste of resources - time and materials but packaging being the most disposable commodity have had a very bad luck with shipping not double packed. 😔) Appreciated it arriving quickly having ordered immediately with Amazon Prime standard shipping. One star would have been added for just that. 😆Highly recommend this product and shipper, didn't bother to look for anything else only looked in my Amazon buy again list.

I had been searching electric tea kettles for awhile. I had a Chantal kettle that was about 4 years old with a stay on feature that lastsed at least 24 hours but it became time for a a new one. The Plantar kettle stays onfor four hours and has different settings for whatever type of tea you are brewing. It takes 3 to 4 minutes to complete the brewing process and is so easy to operate. I am very happy with my new kettleand highly recommend it.
