Hi Guys, Can anyone tell me if the cage can be mounted on top of a pole using a pole adaptor?

Yes it has a threaded socket at the bottom

Mine hangs from a tree branch and works well to keep crows, starlings out. We don't have a squirrel problem. You could use a pole with a large hook but I can't see how you would attach to a straight pole. The middle section takes 2 large fat balls which is good.i

To fill it, does it have to be unscewed at the bottom or does the guardian cage just slide off from the top, the same as the other rspb feeders?

You're correct. Just slide the top cage off. This one is easy!

Does this cage stop Starlings getting the food?

It does stop the larger bird we had problems with jackdaws clearing the feeder in 2 days, this has stopped them, we do not get to many starlings however blu, great and long tailed tits love it
