This garage door bolt is ideal for our wooden gate. It is strong, well made, galvanised and should provide years of service. In addition, to the bolt, brackets and floor plate, screws were supplied together with a piece of galvanised tubing for locating the bolt in cement in the ground.

I spent WAY too much time researching different gate bolts, always seeing reviews like rusted or poor quality and after nearly giving up I eventually bought this one. It's been on my heavy driveway gate for sometime now and I can say it is still in perfect condition, no warping/bending/rusting in sight.

I use mine on a wooden garden gate to stop it swinging in the wind, it is perfect for this and long enough to go a good couple of inches in the ground. My issue with this is the bolt is a very loose fit in the holes that guide it giving it a poor quality feel, there is quite a few mm of play between the bolt and the holes it drops through which does make it rattle in the wind and again each time you close the gate. This is in comparison the the drop bolt on my other garden gate which sits tight and flush in its brackets. This does the job but there are better ones out there for less money, my other bolt was seven pounds fifty from a local timber yard and a much better product than this one.

Would have been 5 but I think it could do with a 3rd fixing mount but in all fairness all brands are the same and this is probably one of the best .

Does the job I bought it for on a five bar gate.
