It Just Works!
I placed milky spores granular grub control on my dry grass spring, summer and fall of 2024 and 2025. The granular product to me looked like small broken down rocks. My first outing I used a setting of 3-1/4. This setting wasn’t conducive as the minced rock like spores would clog the opening on my Scott’s EdgeGuard Mini Spreader. I would stop and go often clearing the constant clogging in the spreader. I adjusted to a setting of 4-1/2 which worked for me. I always spread Milky Spores the day before rain. If it doesn’t rain water your grass after spreading Milky Spores. April of 2026, I noticed a significant reduction of grubs in my back yard. My backyard is 1,540sqft. I dug up various dead grass sections as needed for patch work re-seeding. After digging in about 1,026 sqft I only removed 5 grubs! Since Milky spores reduced grubs significantly in my backyard I will do a third year to see if I see any grubs next April 2027. I can’t wait to see what the reduction of grubs looks like in my front yard this year! I used a mask, goggles, rain boots and old clothing that I didn’t mind getting messy as the spores emitted powder as I pushed the spreader. I without any reservations, highly recommend this product in the granular form!

Safest and most effective way to get rid of Japanese beetles
These are a must for an organic way to kill off Japanese beetles. Remember that this is something the beetles carry back to their nest and it affects future progeny so it will take a year or two to see results but absolutely worth it and safe for pets and kids.

Worked great in combo with spectracide bags. Gold!
The value was a little price but I am very hopeful it will work. I am guessing you have to do it for many years as it did not kill on contact. I spread out before they nettles were to arrive. Not as many showed. But then I added spectracode Bags and boom! All gone. So combine this with the two and you are gold. Effective and achieve better plant health with no beetles. Oh I do think my rose bushes appears to be a bit smaller this year though

Thumbs up.
This stuff does work, but it must be reapplied. Keeps them at the edges of the property. My neighbors don't worry about the moles so this will always be a problem. It's very easy to use, just put it in a spreader. It didn't seem to harm any of my plants or bushes so thumbs up.

Hard to cost justify the thin 'science' of this fungi field tested or otherwise working.
Not much science that supports this fungi working to control japanese beetle grubs in the ground. What support there is, takes 2-3 years of 2 applications a season. So in effect you spend at least 3 years to find out it works or not. In my case, not.

Easy to spread.
Easy to spread. We'll see how effective this application was when it's summer.

Dead grubs everywhere
It really works. I had a beetle infestation this year. They destroyed my cherry blossom tree and roses. I applied milky spore on a Sunday. In mid-October. It rained that night, but not much. The instructions say that the granules are water activated so I ran the sprinklers that Tuesday. Grubs started coming out of the ground immediately. I am a completely satisfied customer. It’s rare that you see product results so immediately. My yard is like a mine field of dead grubs I mostly live it because it’s safe for my pets and won’t kill the pollinators in my cottage style garden. The instructions say that it’s most effective with 6 separate applications. Apply in spring, summer, and fall for 2 years. I will be purchasing more for my spring application. For those complaining about it not working, it may be because you have a different type of grub. This product is solely for Japanese beetle grubs!
