My cat hates closed doors and will scratch at the carpet. These save my carpet from getting all torn up. It’s super easy to install and worth every penny! I ordered one to begin with and ended up ordering more after testing the first one out.

After much research, I've found the following combination of products to be most useful when fighting a stubborn cat's resolve to destroy all carpets near doorways.Steps:1. Let the plastic mat sit outside under the sun for a few hours with heavy items to flatten and soften the mat.3. Key things to Measure before cutting: 1) length of doorway 2) length of space between doorway and where the carpet ends. Be sure there is enough plastic to cover half of the transition strip.4. Trim off the plastic mat to fit doorway, for myself it ended up being a small rectangle5. Tape down the overlap between the transition strip and the plastic mat.6. Optional: tape down the plastic mat to the carpet so it doesn't budge.7. Optional: if there is enough room under the door, throw a floor mat over the plastic mat and transition strip. Now you have 3 layers of protection.Hope this helps anybody who has/is running into this problem!

A great buy - three pieces for what other venders charge for one. Good, substantial material, but not difficult to cut. I used a utility knife for general sizing but for little cuts to fit around moldings ordinary sharp scissors sufficed. The product arrives rolled up, but is easy to flatten if you just follow the instructions that are included. So far has been absolutely effective in preventing my cat from damaging carpet in doorways,.

My naughty cats have a habit of clawing carpet when doors are closed. When I got new carpet, this was my best bet in saving it. No more clawing!

They are very narrow not the size of the rug

Works really well at discouraging the cats from ripping the carpet and is better than the precut mats that you can’t size to your door. Four stars because it slides around a lot on the carpet sometimes. It doesn’t have a lot of grip to it.
