Q: How much current can these be expected to hold up to?

Others are incorrect. Switches and contacts are rated for current typically independent of voltage. The voltage is simply spec for isolation. Typical figures for these switches are 12V, 50mA. If you absolutely need 50 mA or more, you need to either buy a verified part from digikey that is rated for it, or perhaps go to a low side NPN or N-channel MOSFET solution in conjunction with this cheaper switch. I personally would advise the latter option.

Q: Do these have the correct pin spacing to fit into a proto board?

They fit on a breadboard just fin. If you need to span the center gap, the pins bend a little.
