Great product! Really does work!
I bought this for my 17-year-old dachsi mix. It worked fine, but she was 17. The I shared the info with a friend whose younger dog had a cough that the Vet suspected was heart issues. Within days of using these chews, the cough was gone! So, I recommended them to yet another friend, similar issues with her dog, same result!!!! Great product!

So far so good
I have a 14 year old pomeranian that weighs 8.5lbs. She was recently diagnosed as early stages CHF. The vet put her on Vetmedin 1.25mg chews. They just cost too much. 50 chews is over $50. I started searching for an alternative and found these. For her small size I cut one chew in half. Then I cut the half in half. I gave her one of those pieces this morning with a small piece of cheese. She ate it fine. I'll give her the other half tonight. As long as she shows no signs of side effects from these and her cough does not return, I am hoping these will be a good alternative to the more expensive prescription medication. If these do not work, I will update this review. EDIT: Been using these for almost a month now. No coughing. The chews are hard and they don't smell great. But again, I cut them into quarter pieces and place a small piece of cheese on each piece before giving to her. She eats it fine but she's also trained to eat her medicine before she gets a proper treat. Show her the treat, take it away and give her the medicine and then the treat. Even the most stubborn dog will take their medicine this way. Put a bit of sliced cheese or get that squirty can cheese to coat the medicine. I'm definitely ordering more of these when I run out. They work as well as the prescription chews and cost much less. 2nd Edit: Still loving these chews! I've started splitting the contents of the bag when it arrives. I place half in a zip lock bag and the other half in another zip log bag. I keep both inside the original bag. This keeps the chews softer over time. My Pomeranian is now 15 years old. She'll eat these chews without cheese now as she's so use to the routine of 1/4 chew in the morning and 1/4 chew in the evening. No coughing or heavy panting and she still loves to play chase!

Good product
I started my dog on this three months ago when she was diagnosed with enlarged heart. She developed a lot of coughing mostly when she got up or was playing. Iโve been using this for three months as I mentioned, and I have seen a significant difference. She is coughing a lot less And has a lot of energy. She can run up the stairs without coughing now. When she gets up in the morning, she doesnโt always cough. I give her this along with Hawthorne and dandelion. I believe the two products combined have made a huge difference in our heart health. I have not taken her to the vet again as she just went in February but I bet they would be surprised. Hope this helps. I love my dog and want to help her through this time of her life as much as I can.

I give my dog half the recommended dose.
I've been giving my dog these for over a month now, and it seems to help her, along with dandelion leaf/root, burdock, and milk thistle. 4 regular vets, and 1 specialist, still no definitive answer what's wrong with her - all I know is her belly is distended, liver enlarged, adrenal glands enlarged, and a heart problem that seems to be developing in an unusual way. I'll know more when I can get her in to see the cardiologist. No one seems to think it's Cushings, and I feel pretty strongly that whatever she ate in the yard caused this and/or exacerbated issues she was already having. She also has red staining on her arms from licking, but she's always licked her front legs and it's never stained her legs like this before. Changing her protein to salmon has seemed to help lessen the red staining, but it's still there. For now, canned salmon dog food mixed with blanched and raw veggies with the before mentioned supplements have drastically improved her condition. Dandelion was the first addition to her wet dog food mix and which I give the most credit to her improved health - normalizing her thirst and ending her excessive panting. She is normally about 25 lbs, but has been weighing a little heavier since her decline over the winter, so I was giving her 1 chew a day, broken in half. But after a while she started having seizures (sometimes too much protein brought on seizures in the last 2 years), so I cut it down to half a chew and seems to help. She is not on any medications. For reference, she's a 13-14 year old Boston terrier.

Expensive option that does not pass the doggy taste test
I had been giving the capsule form to my 10 lb dog who has an enlarged heart in an attempt to stave off congestive heart failure along with some prescription meds. As she takes a total of 5 prescription meds and 4 supplements twice a day I was looking for an alternative to so many pills as I have to shove them down her throat. The problem with small dogs is that it difficult to hide medicine in their food as they don't "wolf" down their food like big dogs. In any case, I was glad to see this alternative supplement in a flavored chew. However, my dog HATES it. I offered it to her several times and she took it and spit it out. I even broke it in half thinking the inside would be more appealing. Again she spit it out. I even tried hiding it in some sausage and she ate the sausage and left the supplement. She is not a picky eater as I have never given her a treat she didn't like or eat. So I can only imagine that these supplements must taste horrible. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed with this purchase as it wasn't cheap. Bottom line, if you have a big dig, you might be able to get by but if you have a dog that actually tastes what it eats before swallowing then "buyer beware".

Update
Update 3/14/20 The replacement bag I received seemed normal and I have continued to purchase these since my initial review. I have not encountered the same sour smell since then. My little ones (both with heart disease) take these nightly and are doing great. I have been very happy with this product in the past but I am extremely concerned with the batch I purchased recently (7/27/18). The number on the back of my bag is 33074600 1019. It smells bad and sour, like rancid milk, and is very obviously spoiled. I am very familiar with how it is suppose to smell and this is definitely not it. There is no way I would ever feed this to my babies. Please be careful if you have ordered this within the past week or so. Like I said, I do like the product and I do believe it has helped my dogs, but I am now very wary and my confidence in the product is uncertain. I have ordered a replacement and I will update on whether I get the same bad batch or not.

Vetri Cardio Canine Recommended by Veterinary Cardiologist
Max, my 13 1/2 year old yorkie, was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, an enlarged heart and a heart murmur after a lengthy stay at the emergency hospital for a seizure. The vet cardiologist recommended a list of supplements or these easy little chews along with Viagra twice a day to treat the hypertension. After looking up all of the individual supplements, I decided that these chews were easier, had the recommended dosages and were also cost effective. He has happily eaten them since I received them and would prefer to have more than one a day. I have been cutting each chew in half and giving it as a treat twice a day so he thinks he's getting more. I hope that they are benefiting his health and will help extend his life so that I have more time with my baby. The chews I received are not super, squishy soft but definitely not hard, just chewy and do not have a foul odor as some others have reported. I will definitely be mindful of smell and texture on any future orders.

Wish they were smaller and chewier
I use these because my veterinarian and the specialist veterinarian cardiologist I went to recommended them. However my dogs don't really care for them at all. For my small 15 lb-ish dogs they are a little difficult for them to chew. So I chop them up and top them with a fish oil which they take also at their that's recommendation. Wish they were smaller and or chewier.

Sounds like a good product, but our dog won't consume them.
I'm sure they are a great product, but unfortunately our Cavalier Spaniel won't eat them no matter what we try to do (hide them in his food, break them up, etc). They are strong smelling, but our dog won't eat them :(
