Polyplumb PB1915-5AMZ Push Fit Socket Blank End 15mm - Grey (Pack of 5)

The Polyplumb push-on must work best where the (15 mm, as measured with a digital caliper) pipe is of copper and/or reasonably rough in surface texture. I had a bad experience in the bathroom after I pushed one onto a cut pipe that had a smooth painted surface. The water had first been turned off in the kitchen below, and when I returned upstairs after turning the it back on, I found to my horror that the Polyplumb had been blasted off by the returning mains water pressure in my brief absence. The amount of cold water that can escape in about 10 seconds has to be seen to be believed. It also formed a substantial pool in the kitchen below. My wet and dry vacuum cleaner coped well with the flood. but dripping through the ceiling continued for about 5 hours before abating. I was even employed the following day drying out some of the surfaces with the aid of a heat gun. Had I been using a traditional metal blanking plug it may not have occurred. Be careful!
