What size would be strong enough to support if cut to 6" long?** A: I think the 1mm would be strong enough. I cut the tubes in half and make appetizer picks with them and they hold up well with beads on one end and appetizers on the other . Hope this helps. **Q: could i use these rods to hang clay from in an oven?** A: they will be hard to bend into a hook if that's what you plan, as they are very stiff but with the right tools yes, may be overkill unless the clay is heavy **Q: What is the tolerance for the diameter?
