Grover502N Roto-Grip Locking Rotomatic Tuners - 3+3 Nickel

I haven't installed them yet, still working on the finishing of the guitar. But I took them out of the package and they are nice and smooth and I believe they will do a great job.

Grover worked well for me until the last one I received. One of them broke on me

I replaced the factory installed gold Grovers on a brand new Epiphone Sheraton II Pro for two reasons. First, I wanted to change out all of the hardware from gold to nickel. Second, I've observed professional musicians, including Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend, retuning his Sheraton, which appears to be factory in every way, minus the pick guard, between just about every song. I conclude that they have a problem holding a tune. With these locking tuners, along with a roller bridge, I aim to add more stability. I swapped out the ugly kidney stone buttons with nickel keystone buttons for an even better look. The Philips screw holes were just ever so slightly off and were difficult to screw in but I managed to get them installed with no damage to the headstock. It's still a work in progress but I must say the vintage sunburst Sheraton looks so much better with the nickel trim. I have factory uncovered zebra Probuckers (actually one Probucker and one Pro Alnico Classic) coming from China. That combined with cream pickup rings and knobs will complete transformation.
