Mystic Dragon: 2 (The Mystic Trilogy, 2)

I found this book to be quite interesting. It is more mature and quite a bit darker than the first book, Mystic. However, the author has clearly grown into his writing style in this book and the flow of words is much smoother, making it easier to get lost in the story. The established magic system is explored in more depth in this book as are the complexities of the challenges faced by the protagonists.

Wow. This is one of those rare occurrences when book 2 is better than the first. The intensity and depth of Mystic Dragon blindsided me in the best possible way.This is more than the continuation of Pomella's story, this is a transformation, a forging of her character even as we delve into the lives of those around her. This book was like a snowball on a hill, but with more burning. By the halfway point, I was desperate to see what happens next, and that feeling didn't end with the book!If you like traditional fantasy with intense plots and killer characters, look no further.
