The quality of the product appears to be good, but the tech seems to be out of date. I can’t get the unit to work on my windows 11 laptop, and all of the instruction materials say it works with any Windows version from Vista to 10. I think the tech is a bit antiquated, and needs to be updated.I am going to stick with a Bluetooth unit that works with Forscan instead of a USB based unit.

I purchased this in order to make a few changes to my 2022 F150 Hybrid. I mostly wanted to be able to disable the annoying double honk when leaving the truck running and closing the door with the key fob in my pocket.However, when I connected this ELM327 unit to my truck running the latest Forscan v2.3.56 I get the message "The adapter is NOT recommended for this car - some FORScan functions may not be available or work properly"Checking the FORScan support forum I find out what FORScan does when you connect to the reader is check to see whether the device is has been approved by them. The reason for this is some lower cost and clone devices have bricked modules in some people's cars. There are some saying "don't worry" as folks on the internet are wont to do. However, I'm not willing to take the risk of bricking my very expensive and complex truck because the ELM adapter I purchased isn't recommended by the FORScan software.
