We have two small suggestions, one is that you open the window or turn on the light first, let the blanket absorb light for more than five minutes, then you have to draw the curtains, the blanket is very bright in total darkness, another point is: in total darkness, take a flashlight and shine the blanket directly for a while, it will soon glow.

I believe you expose it to light I sent it to my grandkids but I believe that you can put it under a light or in sun sorry I couldn’t give you an exact answer
