Runs windows 365 nicely.
With 8gbs of ram it seems to have plenty room to open a whole screen of tabs if you need to. The Intel N4500 processor is plenty and only draws 6w. Screen is bright and sharp. Kboard is backlit. The darker keys I think are better as the letters contrast better than the white keys. My previous CB had white keys. It will chew through the battery the first time you set it up as lots going on under the hood for the first couple hours. I use primarily for business and some surfing. Over 11hrs on a charge. That's plenty. Wireless is very fast. Setup is a breeze. Great value. 💯

Have been using this for a few days now
Chromebook arrived as advertised. Good battery life. No glitches. Great display. Seems to be all I had hoped for. Again only been using it a few days, but so far so good. I will update this review if there is a glitch or problem. VERY PLEASED SO FAR

cpu speed
The chromebook didn't come with 3.1-Ghz of processor speed, but I'm not complaining, because 2.8 is good for a chromebook anyway I can still get all of my school work done easily. Also the battery life on the chromebook is pretty good just make sure you turn off the blacklit for better perserved battery life

Perfect for early years
Kids don't need power, but they do need these for school. So far this has worked great. Highly recommend. Its even been dropped a few times without issues

Update--had serious problem....Great upgrade from old Windows laptop
UPDATE: I really like this laptop, but after using it for a few weeks, I ran into a problem that made it unusable for my needs. I was running Microsoft 365 web version, and I needed to have 3 Chrome browser tabs open with a small spreadsheet, a Word doc, and a small PowerPoint. Spreadsheet froze because I ran out of memory. Didn't seem right because other Chromebooks are sold with 2 or 4 GB of memory. Contacted the seller who said to "Powerwash" the device, which resets to factory configuration.. Didn't work, still ran out of memory. Seller stopped responding to messages, so I contacted HP support. They had me run a whole bunch of memory tests, look at the task manager, etc. No joy, so they said to do a system restore. That is a huge pain because the Chrome Restore utility doesn't work well at all. That took all day of formatting memory sticks, replacing memory sticks, re-formatting memory sticks on my PC, etc, etc. Restore actually made it worse because I'd removed a couple of apps and it put them back. Now it was running out of memory with only a few Chrome tabs open. Internet search suggested the problem was a separate virtual machine running that was taking up a huge chunk of memory. Called "arcvm", it creates a separate system to run Google Play. Turned off Google Play in settings and got back a whopping 4GB of memory. Now I have 4.5 GB free instead of 0.5 GB. I'll update if anything changes. That worked for me because I don't play games--just use this for light business tasks. I would have been disappointed if I wanted to play games or use other apps. It looks like (but I didn't confirm) that Photos may run off Google Play, because it disappeared when I turned GP off. So it works for me, but it might not work for you. I blame it on Google for the Chrome OS bloatware, but wish the seller would have helped me with the problem. Also, the speed quoted in the description is incorrect and misleading. I says "up to 3.1 GHz" processor speed. If you look up the Intel Celeron 4500, it's rated at 1.1 GHz with burst speeds of 2.8 GHz. It's plenty fast for my needs, but may not be for yours. Net-net, I like the machine, but disliked the time I wasted trying to get it to work. ...................................................I’m embarrassed to admit how old my high end HP top of the line laptop is. Despite a ton of memory, etc. Windows “upgrades” made it unusably slow. Even putting Chrome Flex on it didn’t make it fast enough. I use this Chromebook mostly to do Word docs and Excel. With a little bit of web based CAD. I don’t do the huge spreadsheets with Basic programming that I did before I left the engineering profession, but this works just fine for the simpler stuff I do for my farm. I’m on Microsoft 365 which isn’t full featured anyway. Screen is great, size and weight are just fine, I leave it plugged in most of the time, so I can’t say much about battery life. Keyboard is fine, backlighting is great. I use a mouse, so the extra large touchpad kind of gets in the way, though. Couldn’t tell it from new. No scratches, smudges, etc. Only way to tell it was reconditioned was it came in a plain brown box with no Quick Start Guide, etc. Just turned it on and had it running in about 5 minutes. The interweb answered all my remaining questions. Glad I got it
