Yum
The cans are smaller now than five years ago. Cost is up. I'm guessing a shrinkflation victim. Same great flavor. Good texture. Great microwaved, fried in the pan or airfrier. On a bun or chopped in a stew they are delicious.

The taste was different from a regular hot dog, but it was not horrible. I had plant based ones before and also ate the plant based sausage links. One benefit is lack of major fat content. Good price for product

Vegetarian hot dogs, tasty options
For those who might wonder, these taste more like a hot dog than a sausage. I use them a variety of ways (1) I slice them up and add them to cooking black beans and rice. (2) I put them in a pan with a little olive oil, ketchup, and about 1/2 tsp of Worcestershire sauce or 1/2 tsp of Bragg liquid aminos, and I put them on low medium heat for a bit, moving them around to warm them up and coat them in the sauce, them I increase the heat to fry them a bit on a side or two, then I put them in hot dog buns with the usual fixings for hot dogs. (3) Olive oil in pan, slice some of these and fry in the oil to caramelize a bit, then mix them with hash browns and (drained, heated) sauerkraut for a 3-1 comfort food dish.

Despite the current fad, fake meat tastes like fake meat.
I am going to state the obvious, we are NOT vegetarians and this was our first experience with meat substitutes. At the beginning of the pandemic, when everyone was panic buying everything in sight we decided to stock up on non perishables and canned foods. Among our purchases were these plant based super links. These look like exactly hot dogs in color and texture, just looking at them you would swear they were real, however this is where the similarity ends. I believe these were invented by a mad scientist who has no idea what meat tastes like. The illusion of meaty goodness fails as you take a bite, first there is a smell, like canned mixed vegetables, not the good ones, the cheap kind , like your grandma buys at a dollar store. Then comes the lack of flavor. At first, its not bad but NOT good, they start to taste worse as you eat more and you begin to wonder how something that looks so good could taste so awful. We find the best way to cook these is boiled in beef broth, then fried in bacon drippings , served topped with lots of mustard , ketchup or hot sauce. If you cant taste them, these are OK.

So delicious, yet so few...
This is the only brand of hot dog I will ever eat. It doesn't have that skin-layer most other wienies seem to have. I hate to try different ones because I just know they're going to have that chewy, disgusting skin-layer wrapped around them. But not these. These are the BEST! My only problem with them is that I can eat them all by myself. Like, the whole can. And I don't even feel bad. Sorry, fam, but if I can buy them on Amazon, so can you. Quit being cheap and just get your own. (No, no. I'm just kidding. I did happily share them that time I was caught with some. I'm not really this stingy.)

Weird crumbly version of Big Frank
I grew up on Big Franks, and still enjoy them as a comfort food. Was curious to try Super Links. Loma Linda has several extremely similar looking versions, but nothing beats the Big Frank. Super Links are mealy, crumbly, kind of off-flavored. Some of them were crumbling in the can. There is a funky slightly bitter note in the seasoning. Sorry I strayed, Big Frank.
