I had been playing tennis with no training for a few weeks before I got these. They definitely are softer and slower than regular tennis balls. I tried to play on a shorter court, but that didn't work. These are definitely for a full court. I bought but didn't try the ones that are in between these and regular balls. After playing with these, you can definitely tell that regular balls are faster and bounce higher. These give you just a bit more time to line up your shot, see the spin, and set up your stance for a proper return. If you are trying to teach yourself tennis, these plus youtube are a good start.

I just needed some tennis balls fast so my son would stop fighting our friends' dog for her ball on the beach. Now the 2 of them share nicely and even the dog can tell which one is hers when it's time to go home, the markings on these are very distinctive. I like them.
