As a shamanic practitioner life can sometimes be solitary and you dont always have people you can bounce ideas off. There is not always someone you can talk to and say "Has this ever happened to you" or "Do you know what this means?". This book has answered so many of those questions for me and brought areas of my understanding on in leaps and bounds.It is fascinating reading how the author ends up going through his own initiation and placed on the path of shamanism. From what started as a journey researching the uses of Ayauscha and its possibilities becomes a very personal journey. His accounts of Machu Picchu are amazing and at times startling.Im a lover of Carlos Castaneda but this guy takes things to a more understandable level and as a result the books messege becomes ever more poignant.Much Love!

As a Munay Ki Initiate, this book is invaluable! It explains one mans journey on the path of the Inca Shamans. I can't put it down!Not a storybook,more of an understanding of the Munay Ki rites & not to be taken lightly. If you are seriously on this path, then this is for you!

First read this book about 15 years ago, and have never forgotten it - part thrilling adventure story, part introduction to psychic awareness. Second only to 'The Third Eye' (by Lobsang Rampa) of that genre, in being totally absorbing.

fascinating and enlightening, loved it

This book is a weak reminiscent of Castaneda, Harner,Mehl Madrona, and Martin Prechtel, work. i seriously doubt that all these things happened to him at all. most of the names seem fabricated and there is no real reference that they even existed. He collected ideas from several Asian traditions, lumped together and called it native shamanism. i doubt it.
