I got this for my son and we had so much fun breaking them open. He is 10 and I wasn’t sure if he would enjoy this as he is obsessed with his tablet, but we were playing for over an hour! We would break open, look at them, and I would explain to him how they form, what they are, and as many facts that I knew about geodes. Now, we bring a few pieces everywhere because he loves giving random people the pieces and everyone gets excited when he does it. I don’t have a place for all of them so it’s perfect. We got the 20 pack and 3 were duds but that’s okay! I think at least one was a solid crystal that could have been put into a large rock polisher if I had one. Great for all ages as well as educational. It is a bit messy, but come on, they are rocks. You can’t expect smashing rocks to be clean. The outside of the rocks are dusty but you know why? It’s dirt! The one I recently opened had more cloudy, dull crystals, and was slightly harder to open, but it was beautiful nonetheless.
