They are one of the few companies who still make a great range of Extra Fine nibs for their pens, and that is the perfect writing instrument imho. I began many years ago with their lower end products...the Safari, Al Star and Vista pens, which I loved back when I wrote a lot Using writing utensils. Now I write more digitally, so those pens don't serve me well because their ink dries up at the nib if you don't write with them every few days, When that problem arose I tried the Studio which is about twice the price of this cp1. The Studio is a an amazing pen and I love the ones I have...but for everyday writing, and for everyone in my family to use they are a bit too fragile...the nibs I mean, I live in a household of guys and I've had to replace nibs because someone picked up and began using one of the Studios and used too much force, breaking the nib. Since I have the partially gold nibs they are expensive to replace....but amazingly smooth too! That's the point at which I tried the cp1...and it has the perfect combination of features to be a long lasting very functional pen that still feels really special to write with. The nibs seem to be stronger although that probably isn't true. Maybe it's because these pens are lighter weight so the guys don't use as much force with them? I'm not sure but they've never broken one! Better yet the ink never dries out and their small profile and great styling makes them perfect for travel, for inside a purse and for literally anywhere. I've not tried the Logo but the reviews just are never as good. They cme with EF nibs, which I like. So I decided to explore a slightly more expensive pen. The barrel is slender, which suits my relatively small hand. It has a nice modernist look. Nothing fancy. When I first received the pen the nib seemed very scratchy to me. At times it would skip, as on curves. Annoying. So I sent it back to Lamy, they give me a new nib, and all is well. But I should not have needed to do that in the first place. (And I did try various papers, including Rhodia) and inks. Problem was the nib. Much as I like Lamy, I'd say there might be some occasional QC problems.
