Great quality pan
Decided to ditch my Tafal pan for a Lodge Cast Iron Skillet and will say I was not disappointed From eggs moving about like non stick to then making a good seared steaks the versatility of these pans are endless even though at 1st the steak was sticking but that due to my lack of knowledge and being abit not very patient and waiting for it to unstick on its own so there is a learning curve to the at 1st especially if your new to these type of pans but once you get use to them & seasoned properly they are pretty much a natural non stick pan & rust resistant Only issue I have is the silicone handle not very good as slides about too much and think they good do better with the packaging Other then that this is a very good all round pan and if maintained properly will last a lifetime and great value looking to buy your 1st cast iron pan but on a budget

Solid pan
A solid piece of kit. Have used it for steaks, fajitas and eggy bread. Cooked great without sticking, even the eggy bread. Washed up nicely and good to go again after a quick rub of oil.

Best pan I even had
Love the pan. I do not need to bother to buy another pan again and again. This pan is no coating and long lasting. Keep the food warm.

Top brand and quality product
I’ve had this skillet a for a week and have used it every day so far. I’m impressed with the quality and expect it to last generations if I maintain the seasoning. It comes pre-seasoned but a hot water and soap wash followed by re-seasoning with vegetable oil is essential before cooking, and a little oil before cooking helps with the seasoning in these early days. First attempt was a rump steak and stir-fry veg. I found the cooking surface heat very even with minimal sticking, and a good char on the medium-rare steak. Easily removed any stuck-on food with a flat blade wooden spatula and cleaned the surface with a nylon brush and paper towel with a little vegetable oil. I would give it a few days use before attempting fried eggs as the non-stick surface improves over time. Not had to wash my pan yet. So long as you can scrape off any stuck-on food and clean with an oily paper towel it will get better over time. This morning I fried a couple of eggs with a little butter and got perfect results. My only gripe is the silicon sleeve for the handle. Far too large to grip the much smaller handle and I found it impossible to use with this heavy pan as the seasoned surface on the handle is slippery with the silicon and prevents any reasonable grip. I use an oven glove instead.

Great quality and finish very useful size
Excellent pan. perfect size .Great quality. We use it a lot. We use it for all types of frying and making pesto etc. Finish is great and it’s easy to clean . To re seal the pan we just wipe it with vegetable oil and heat it on the gas for about thirty seconds then leave to cool and put away We dont bother using the silicone handle but oven gloves instead which we find easier. Being cast iron of course the pan is heavy but thats also its big advantage as it doesn't move around when stirring and stores up heat and transmits this heat well into food

Arrived broken
Looks like a good pan but it arrived broken. There was no padding in the bag, what’s the point in that, of course it’s going to break.

I’m new to the cast iron world and got this sugar skull Lodge for a lot cheaper on Amazon than on the Lodge website. I like skulls, so I had to have this! The size is a nice size for smaller tasks, it would hold 3 or 4 fried or scrambled eggs, could warm tortillas, grill a sandwich, probably could hold one pound for ground meat, perfect for if you are just cooking for yourself or just need a smaller pan. After an initial wash with soap and water (because it’s new and has been handled a lot and traveled to get to me and who knows what it might have picked up) I gave it a little warming on the stove top to drive off any remaining moisture and then I did a seasoning in the oven, even though I know this comes pre-seasoned. I preheated the pan on medium for about 5 minutes, until some flicked water danced across the surface and then added about a tablespoon of butter. I also meant to set the eggs out to come to room temp, but they were still somewhat cold. I fried two eggs and went better than expected. The pan has a good weight to it, even for being a smaller pan and it didn’t take too long to preheat before I added butter and eggs. I used a spatula to lift the egg and flip it and while I had to give it a little bit pressure of because it wouldn’t just slide around, it lifted easily and cleanly. The flipside left a few tiny bits, possibly because that side had salt and pepper on it and I think I took it out a bit too soon, but it still came away easily and the few tiny bits were easy to scrape with a metal turner and wiped out. The eggs were quite delicious and for being the very first meal cooked it went quite nicely and even better than if I had used a nonstick skillet. The more and more I use this, the better and better and more nonstick this skillet will get. The skillet it well made for the price and the helper handle is a plus because it’s weighty.
