– Pure Benzoin Essential Oil (Styrax Benzoin) Steam Distilled Natural Therapeutic Grade 15ml (0.50 oz)

Not so much an oil, more a thick resin -- so thick it won't pour even if you thwack the base of the little bottle. But this is how it should be I suppose, for a tree resin. I was able to extract a single drop (gob?) on the end of a cocktail stick then transferred it to the surface of just-boiled water in a mug, where it floated in a fog of steam. A nose-funnel made with hands palms-down and thumbs intertwined worked quite well. Benzoin Oil is also known as Friar's Balsam, a name that seems to evoke the soft calming and relieving experience of breathing in the loaded vapour. By starting with 1/3 of a cup, then topping up with doses of steaming water, it was possible to keep things doing. I describe here my cheapskate approach but of course all kinds of specialised vessels and gadgets are available for our convenience -- if we have the cash, the cupboard space and a thirst for acquisition. Me, I'll stick with two hands, a mug and this little bottle of intractably sticky tree-goop for a pleasantly soothing passage-clearing experience.

Very sticky , it ruined my pyrex glass.

Perfect for clearing up the congestion when used with water on stove. My mother used this when we were small and it's my go to for cold season.

A nice thickish viscous consistency with a slight, cookies and cream scent.

The smell is great. I use it as fixative for DIY perfume making in place of Musk. I had to follow the instruction to microwave for nearly 50 seconds because it is like grease (unbelievably thick.) And everytime time after 1 minute it solidify again and the heating in microwave is needed. A little inconvenient but this is how it is.
