Best. Trap. Ever.
Believe the hype. This is constructed very well and is extremely easy to assemble. Put it on top of a 5 gallon bucket (you can still peek in through some gaps in the lid to see inside if the bucket isnโt 100% clear) after putting peanut butter on the fins, put some food in the bucket and leave it where you think theyโre nesting. I used dog food as thatโs what drew them to my utility room in the first place. Never again. I literally checked the trap just, not even 24 hours later, and there were ABOUT 15 MICE IN THE BUCKET. I had ZERO idea there were that many. I guarantee that would not even scratch the surface if I had stuck to conventional traps. Not only that, itโd probably have cost way more and created more of a mess. Hopefully there arenโt too many left! Also, donโt forget to check under the lid for the extra pieces lol. I didnโt, even though the instructions clearly state that theyโre there. But hey, who needs instructions. 1-Year Update 2024: Since writing this I was able to completely clear the main house and now have the trap set up in a larger unfinished mud room. The trap still works, hasn't broken and is ready to catch some more mice this year. I've already caught two mice in the few days I've had it set up. Word of advice: Put some sort of scent on the ramp. I use peanut butter and wipe it away with a paper towel so it still has the peanut butter smell, but not enough for it to stop them from going to the top. The trapped mice are put far away from any houses and ultimately become food for something else. The Dizzy Dunker circle of life.

Big Disappointment! Save your money!
Already broke on me. The dome roof part that is very stiff with just little teeth that go into small holes has broken. A couple little teeth broke right off the bat the first time I tried to put it together. They completely snapped right off unfortunately. I was still able to get it together but itโs almost like a house of cards that could blow up at anytime and fall apart. I also donโt like how hard it is to get the lid off the bucket, extremely difficult where you have to basically take apart the whole trap again which is a pain considering how hard the dome part is to get on. Also itโs very hard to see if you caught anything in the bucket, you have to use a very bright flashlight if you have a light colored bucket to see if any black objects might be in the bucket or move the windmill part to peer into the bucket. I guess I need a transparent bucket. I might call Rinne to see if they can send me a replacement dome roof since it broke already. I havenโt caught anything yet. The Rinne plank trap is the one I use in the garage and itโs always successful so now Iโm using both of these traps. I hope it works. The dome part should be molded curved already so you donโt have to bend it and the lid cover for the bucket should have a transparent window or just make the lid from transparent plastic and make it easier to remove from the bucket. Those are my recommendations to improve the trap which has plenty of potential. Peace. ๐ฆ ๐ฆ update๐ฆ ๐ฆ Itโs a piece of junk! Itโs sitting in the bucket in my garage, Iโm not using it, didnโt catch a thing. Word of caution, do not use hot water with that piece of junk. Condensation will form and the peanut butter will mold quickly like overnight. The dome part keeps the bait from getting enough air so sweat starts to fog the whole thing up and then you get mold right away. Use only cold water, molded up on my right away and just made a mess. I used hot water because the garage is cold and it was cool fall weather already, my bad I guess. I cleaned it up but just threw everything into the bucket so there it sits. Not worth my time. This trap is only good maybe if you have a barn full of mice like 200 or so. Then Iโm sure it will catch the occasional mouse. Itโs fragile and cheaply made not well thought out, too many flaws. Entrance is way too small, bait molds up because of no air flow, doesnโt spin that good, donโt waste your time on this one. Youโve been warned.

Happy endings -Worked Fast and Humane
I could not have asked for a better result. Fast and Humane. This trap worked so well that it caught the whole family of mice within 2 nights. I put little bits of peanut butter out before getting this product to let them get used to finding something yummy in the area of choice - near high traffic area where they were. (Having a camera is also excellent to give you an idea of how many there are). In my case it was a family that had recently moved in thru a small hole. Then when the dizzy dunker came, I put a little peanut butter on the lid, inside the bucket & on the fins of the wheel or spindle. Then situated the bucket where the mice were coming down the wall right next to wall & they walked onto the top of the bucket. That night, The dizzy dunker Caught the male and females and young one first night then all the rest of them including all 5 young ones and were caught on the second night and that was the end of it-they were all caught. One review said that you don't know if you caught anything but you will definately know because the fins of the wheel move each time a mouse falls inโฆ.so each time you check and its moved, that means another mouse or two went in. Then in the morning when mice are less active you can check on whoโs inside โoutside

Great design, great applications, just a bit tricky to keep together
I really like the design here - and I think this is the 'next generation' of repeatable mouse traps. If you set this up right and put bait on the plank to get the mice interested, you really can catch a bunch of them. Setup is easy, and the quality of the plastic is good. I expect this to remain functional for a very long time before anything breaks or wears down. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that portability is difficult. It's a bit cumbersome to relocate or readjust this without the clear plastic dome popping off. I wish the inserts for the clear dome 'snapped in' a bit better and were more secure. I find myself having to re-insert the dome often when moving the trap to a new location (which I do often to make sure I am getting mice in my attic, basement, and garage). I found that just a bit of duct tape on the plastic dome holds it down better. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a 'set it and forget it for a few weeks' type of trap. You can put soapy water in the bottom such that the system remains sanitary for weeks at a time. Of course, this is also a great solution if you are an active trapper that checks and resets the bait regularly as well. If you want to set this thing for a few weeks and not worry about it, I'd recommend investing in baits specifically designed to attract mice for a while - as peanut butter will dry out in a few days and I feel like the mice are less interested once it is dry and crusty.

Mice's Mice's what am I do?
Well, this thing has some down falls. 1. The openings for the mice to enter is to small, the mice don't fit and will stick their little head with their bigger body stick out of the hole and they go no further, which I find the mice just move of from the camera footage. I had to remove one side of the side thingy for the mice will be able to enter. 2. Once you attach the yellow trap to the bucket you can't remove it easily. If you remove the spinning mechanism to remove the little pest, it will start to show stress and eventfully crack or break. 3. The wheel doesn't turn as free as it should. I applied some 3-1 oil to the connection points and this seamed to fixed that issue. However, the wheel doesn't stay in the mounts, stopping the wheel from turning freely. So you have to check the trap often to reset the wheel if the mice enter but don't fall into the bucket. IDK, this seams engineered by NASA but works as if they forgot to carry the 1 in the equation. It works but not great. For the price it's really not worth it in my opinion. Maybe version 2.45975624 will solve my finding. Who the hell knows!

Mice ignored trap - caught them with mouse motel instead
I love Shawn Woods videos and expected this trap would work great. However, although I'm sure the trap functions excellently if mice enter the trap, I had zero success. I used the trap for a week where I knew there were mice. The mice were eating bird seed in my aviary. I saw their droppings in the bird feeder and several times actually saw the mice. I set up the Dizzy Dunker in the path the mice used to reach the bird food. I baited both the ramp and the wheel fins with peanut butter with bird seed stuck to the peanut butter. In a week there was zero activity and the mice ignored the seeds on the ladder. Next I put out 4 mouse motel live traps baited with seeds in the same location as the Dizzy Dunker. The next morning I had 3 mice in the mouse motel traps, again with no action in the Dizzy Dunker. I imagine the Dizzy Dunker works great if you can entice the mice to climb up the ramp and enter the trap, but if they won't climb up, you won't catch any mice. I'm sticking with the mouse motel traps.

Round the clock mouse catcher.
I really like this trap, I saw the video demo and purchased 1 trap so I can test it before I buy more. The 1st 36 hours I caught 8 mice in my garage with my 1 (first) Dizzy Dunker. I live in a rural area. There are lots of mice here. A few days later, I set up a second Dizzy Dunker near my chicken coop and caught 24 mice in a 30 hour period. Things to know.... 1. The ladder that is provided is not enough. You should stack scrap ends of 2x4 lumber or little cardboard boxes or something that will give solid footing to the trap entrance. Make sure there are steps from one piece to the next no taller than 2 inches tall from each other. (mice can climb taller than this but letting them get to the top quickly is the goal here) 2. I smeared Almond Butter on the inside spindle of the where the blade intersect, this will let the mice see/smell the bait and they will venture onto the blade to get it. Mice love peanut butter, normal butter, ect... (never have tested margarine). BTY- why do so many people use cheese as an all purpose/go to bait? How many wild field mice or deer mice have ever eaten cheese? Very few. They are scavengers and will eat many different things. Normal table butter will melt and run easier than peanut butter if the temperature is too warm so I use the thicker peanut butter often. Peanut butter does not require refrigeration so you can leave a jar of it near your traps. 3. I dont want to say anything that may scare/offend some of the more sensitive types, but the mice that I captured had a nice little mineral (salt) water swim before they made their final spiritual journey. The salt keeps the water in a liquid state too. Summary.... This trap has a great design, very easy to use, and it will work for a long time before any maintenance is necessary. You must be careful with the little tabs! What I most enjoy about this trap is that it catches multiple mice without having to be reset. Near my chicken coops.... I dug a hole deep enough to keep the top 2 inches of the trap within easy reach of any passerby in search of a delicious treat. Then I will placed cinder blocks around the trap with 2" wide space between the blocks then covering to top with sheet wood. This keeps my dogs from knocking it over. Cheers!

Expensive and frustrating
I bought this trap immediately after seeing Shawn Woods video on YouTube. The concept is great but the design has problems. The clear plastic cover over the spinning fins is made of 3 pieces that insecurely snap together. When you remove the lid to check for mice, these 3 pieces will fly apart. A solution is to glue the 3 pieces together. I haven't tried this as i don't yet have any glue suitable for plastic and I'll not sure what type of plastic this is. One of the pieces has "pp" written on it. Is it polypropylene? Another solution, which another review mentioned, is to remove the plastic that creates the snap action on the bucket. I don't see a problem with just setting the lid on the bucket. Another problem is that your can't see if you have caught anything without taking the lid off. It would have been better to use a clear plastic for the lid. The last problem is the ramp gets in the way. You have to take it off to take off the lid. A better solution is to tape a string to the lid and dangle it down to the floor. I haven't tried this yet. I haven't caught any mice yet but that's only because i have other mouse traps set that the mice found first. I'm confident that this trap will work well at catching mice. It needs a few tweaks to be good. Perhaps the inevitable copies that will be out shortly will solve some of the issues. Lastly, Shawn says in the video that he invented the trap, but there is nothing in the packaging that credits him. I don't know why they would leave this out
