Do I will be able to see the results for square feet on the app?

Thank you for your question. You can switch the units between m/ft/inch/feet+inch/cm/mm. The APP can not display the square feet. Thank you!

How do i get the app to connect to my device? It isnt working.

First, make sure you have the right app. It’s called “ smart life “ for both android and Apple devices. Turn on bluetooth on both Apple/android device and laser device. Open smart life, you should see a plus sign to add device. It should say laser distance. It should connect afterwards and be ready to take measurements. Good luck.
