NETGEAR WNA3100-100PES N300 802.11n (300 Mbps) Wi-Fi USB Adapter

Let me first start by saying that originally I used a Netgear WG111 Adapter which worked exceptionally well, but didn't have very good speeds, nor 5GHz compatibility. So I moved to this device in the hope that it would be just as good, as the routers supplied with our Virgin Media broadband have always been Netgear. Worked very well to start with, strong signal and maxing out at a speed of 160Mbps download and 12Mbps upload. However, after a few months it started to give me ping lag which is very annoying for gaming as it would fluctuate from a steady <15ms ping to around 300ms or higher then go back to normal, but the fluctuations would be long enough for me to be kicked from games such as Battlefield 4 due to the high ping. A complete nightmare for gamers. EDIT 2016-2017: Since reviewing this wifi adapter the problem has corrected itself. Updating to the latest drivers after they were released fixed my issues. The adapter is capable of speeds upto ~162Mbps, which in the 3 years since my review is now slower than the full 200Mbps which Virgin Media provide and I can get on my phone, but it's still a very reliable adapter and works well for gaming. The Linksys EA3000 I had intended to replace this with was actually much worse to the point where it refused to stay connected and I had to return it. For something reliable, you're better off with one of these!

Firstly you must make sure that this dongle is compatible with your Panasonic TV....mine is a 2011 model Panasonic Smart VIERA TX-P42GT30B.......and is all ok.....apparently newer 2012 models are not suitable. Anyway I've just installed the device, took around 10 mins following the on screen instructions and all working fine. Straightforward and no issues. Much better value than the Panasonic dongle.....The range of choices is limited compared to those available via a PC or Mac but I can always connect the laptop via HDMI if there is something specific that I need. As a fixed installation to the TV that is out of sight this dongle is worth the money for the extra choice that it gives with the ease of access from the ordinary TV remote.

Bought this for my desktop PC. Had a few issues installing it!! 1. The supplied dock didn't work on my PC ( the dongle works OK when it is plugged directly into a USB port, sans dock) 2. I couldn't connect to my wireless network using the button on the dongle. (had to type in details the old fashioned way) So a four star review due to the above points & no clue to as why it doesn't work in the supplied dock! It does drop out occasionally (I just pull it out and plug it back in and it finds the signal again) but most of the time it stays connected well, gives a strong signal and does the job, overall a good product. Shame the dock didn't work as I bought it for the dock & no clue to why? It doesn't quite work right for me but overall a good item, simple to install & about 95% reliable on the connection (with the odd drop out).

I ordered the part which arrrived quickly. It connected to my computer quickly (running XP on old PC (about 8 to 10 years old, I think it was one of the first 64 bit processors, single core AMD processor). Got the latest drivers quickly (I never use supplied drivers, I always go to the internet to ensure I am uising the latest ones) which installed quickly. Pressed the quick link button on device and on my router. It connected straight away and still works. The whole process starting from removing from box, collecting driver from main PC, running up & down stairs to connect, took about 10 minutes. PC and router are a fair distance apart and signal is excellent. We borrowed a laptop and set up next to the PC which has inbuilt 56k wifi, but the signal for which is indicated as good. I can't remember the actual speeds, the PC doesn't get used very often. What more could you want. The only problem now is this connection works quicker than my main PC which is wired into the router.

Recently purchased a Panasonic TX-P42ST30B TV, but like most people was suprised at the price of the Panasonic network adapter. A bit of research on the net showed that a lot of people had used this piece of kit so decided to purchase one and see, I was not disappointed. Plugged into USB socket on TV and worked at second attempt, I think you need to switch the TV off at the mains, insert the adapter and then switch on the TV for it to be recognised. I would say it's a bit expensive if you intend to use it purely as a network adaptor for a PC but good value for my purpose. One word of warning, I have heard that this adaptor does not work with 2012 model Panasonic TV's and it does not work with Panasonic blu-ray players either.

I bought this for my Panasonic Viera TX-P42G30B on the strength of other reviers who stated it worked with their TV's. I can say that this adapter, N600 (latest model), does not work with this model TV. i have since visited the Netgear website and found that my TV is not listed as a compatible model. Furthermore, the new model being shipped by Amazon appears to be version 3, which Netgear state will not work with Panasonic TV,s. Visit Netgear here - [...] - to check. One reviewer does actually state that you must have the version 2 model adapter, but, even so, my tv is still not compatible. Amazon sell the version 2 but then go on to tell you that a newer model is available (at a cheaper price.) While very disappointed, I have decided to keep the N600 just in case my laptop wireless packs up (it works on the computer just fine.) I have given this product 3 stars because of the lack of information available on screen with the onus being placed on the buyer to do their own in depth research. The adapter works fine for normal computer based use but for a smart tv it's hit and miss.

Chiave wireless perfetta, prende il segnale in casa mia, da un piano all'altro con in mezzo una soletta di cemento armato. Il programma è rapidissimo e perfettamente compatibile con WIN 7 e 8. Ricordatevi solo di controllare che il firewall di windows consenta la connessione del programma NETGEAR, nel menù windows firewall, sotto la voce impostazioni avanzate/consenti ad un programma in entrata/uscita. Ich habe diesen WLAN-Stick für meinen Panasonic LCD TV TX-L37EW30S erworben, weil dieser garantiert mit Panasonic TV's zusammen funktionieren soll. Diese Aussage kann ich voll unterstreichen, da mein Nachbar seit gestern den gleichen Stick an einem etwas älteren Panasonic-TV (ca. 1,5 Jahre alt) nutzt und dieser dort ebenso funktioniert. Dieser funkt in beiden Fällen eine Fritzbox Fon Wlan 7170 an, in meinem Fall via AVM-Repeater N/G. Bei meinem Nachbarn hat sich der Verbindungsaufbau mit WPA2 etwas kritisch gestaltet. Der Schlüssel musste 3x im TV angegeben werden. Danach war alles ok. In meinem Fall war es Plug and Play. Nach Einstecken des Sticks wurde dieser korrekt erkannt (ich nutze USB-2), USB-1 ist mit HDD bereits besetzt. Nach dem Setup (manuell) wurde die Verbindung sofort aufgebaut und ich durfte erstmal ein Software-Update für Viera Connect herunter laden. Nach dem obliegatorischen Power Off/On des TV gings direkt online und alle Dienste, sofern kostenfrei, waren uneingeschränkt nutzbar. Die Sendeleistung sowie der Empfangspegel sind sehr gut und störungsfrei. Da bei meinem Nachbarn und mir im Bereich zwischen Repeater und TV dicke Stromversorgungen (Kabelschacht) verlaufen, ist Störungsfreiheit absolut notwendig. Mangels 5 GHz-Band und N-Unterstützung der 7170 konnte ich beides leider nicht testen. Grundsätzlich ist der Stick WPS-fähig (wird von der 7170 nicht unterstützt) und funkt auf beiden Frequenzen (2,4 und 5 GHz) mit bis zu 300 Mbit. Die Support-Page von Netgear ist übersichtlich und man kommt sehr leicht an die notwendigen Treiber für alle !! Betriebssysteme. Aus Sicht meines Nachbarn ergibt das 4 Sterne (wg. Problemen beim Verbindungsaufbau), von mir gibt es dafür glatte 5 Sterne.

Article livré à la date prévue, fonctionnant pour ma part avec une liveboxplay, je peux me connecter soit au 2,4 soit au 5 ghz sans aucun souci. Je joue à World of Warcraft, en raid 25 personnes sans aucun probleme, fonctionne aussi bien qu'en filaire. Livré avec un cordon usb et un petit socle à coller où l'on desire pour ameliorer la reception ou la disposition dans votre espace. Cd d'installation inclus et facile d'utilisation. la seule remarque négative que je pourrait formuler est que dans l'interface de gestion on ne peut pas choisir par defaut 2,4 ou 5ghz il se connecte au hasard neanmoins on peut basculer sans difficulté entre les deux. Je conseille donc vivement cet article qui à un tres bon rapport qualité/prix.

Der WLAN-Empfänger arbeitet einwandfrei. Ich habe mir gleich die neuesten Treiber aus dem Netz geladen und war positiv überrascht, dass sowohl eine Installation mit und ohne Netgear-Utility (also driver-only) enthalten war (bin in der Regel Fan von sehr schlanken Installationen). Nach Starten der Treiber-Installation wird man aufgefordert den Stick einzustecken, danach ist die Installation sofort abgeschlossen (Win 7). Ich hatte keine Schwierigkeiten sofort eine Verbindung zu meiner bisherigen 2,4 GHz-FritzBox herzustellen. Die Geschwindigkeiten und Verbindungsaufbau-Zeiten sind gut und absolut vergleichbar mit meinem alten Fritz WLAN Stick, auch die Empfangsqualität ist m.E. sehr gut.

Il prodotto è eccellente come generalmente tutti i prodotti Netgear. Con questa periferica è possibile collegare ad una rete wifi anche computer che sono sprovvisti di schede wireless. L'installazione è semplicissima: per prima cosa basta inserire il cd ed installare il software e quando richiesto collegare l'adattatore alla presa USB ed il gioco è fatto. Ovviamente per connetterci con il nostro router dobbiamo conoscere la password e/o dare i permessi di collegamento (se si usa indirizzi MAC) tramite router... ma questo è un discorso che si prevede siate in grado di farlo e che comunque non riguarda la recensione del qui presente prodotto. Questo adattatore USB ha una potenza fino a 300 Mbps il che significa che riesce a ricevere e trasmettere segnale molto distante e anche con ostacoli lungo il percosso (muri, porte, solai, ecc.), ricordatevi che per una migliore resa dovete impostare anche il vostro router a potenza 300 Mbps in ricezione e trasmissione (se il vostro modello lo supporta e lo permette). Molti si lamentano che il segnale non è migliore di altre chiavette wifi... beh, controllate prima le impostazioni del vostro router. Ricordo inoltre che il linea di massima le potenze posso essere definite grossomodo così: 150 Mbps = Ottimo segnale nella stanza dove c'è il router. Scarso nelle stanze adiacenti. Assente in quelle lontane. 300 Mbps = Ottimo segnale nella stanza dove c'è il router e in quelle adiacenti. Scarso il quelle lontane. 600 Mbps = Ottimo segnale in tutte le stanze dell'abitazione. Sufficiente fuori dall'abitazione e per molti metri di distanza Scegliete quindi la potenza in base alle vostre esigente. E non stupitevi se, avendo un router da 150 Mbps e questa chiavetta da 300 Mbps, la qualità del segnale è sempre scarsa, il problema è del router che non supporta il segnale più potente e la chiavetta è costretta a ricevere solo 150.
