I purchased 3 of the thicker (3") version. I liked the fact that it was provided in a large roll, rather than squares (the more cuts, the more chance for noise to find its way through). While the adhesive seems like a good feature for a flat clean surface, my wall has a rough finish, so I used a heavy duty (not office) staple to more effectively secure it to the wall. I used it to cover a large door that is shared between 2 adjacent rooms and limit the noise traveling from one room into the other. This product has helped with noise reduction.

Needs to be a lot thinker on the back side for support still will continue to use cause it’s a great product
