The Beginner Guitarist Playbook

As an older person learning guitar for the umteenth time this book has been an eye openerwith simple diagrams and understandable text i have understood more about the fretboard and how chords are formed and change . loved the tip about the dreaded f F chord the two string approach to finding notes anywhere on the fretboard is just brilliant something my tutors all failed in getting across to me overall really happy with this book

Having read this book for the last couple of months now, I have found it to be very informative and especially for the beginner and learner.It really does help you to learn what you need to know as a beginner without any overwhelming or advanced information that beginners won't need.Den really does teach from the very beginning and the grass roots level.He really does realise what beginners are going through.I would certainly recommend this book to anybody who is learning guitar hands down.Go to his website Learning guitar secrets also.You will not be disappointed.Dave.S. 🎸😀

A WELL STRUCTURED AND WRITTEN BOOK. EVERY PAGE HAS INTERESTING BASICS AND TIPS NOT ONLY FOR A BEGINNER, A WORTHWHILE AND REASONABLY PRICED ADDITION TO YOUR GUITAR LIBRARY.

I've been playing guitar since 1990 to a reasonable standard, good enough to play in front of thousands of people on occasion. However even with all that experience I seemed completely incapable of teaching my partner and her 12 year old daughter to understand how things were connected together and how to progress from playing songs they have tabulature for and become creative.That was until I saw some of Den's stuff on social media and shared it with them, almost instantly they both had a eureka moment!Based on this I bought the book and it has been a huge success. Within a few days they both found they could barely walk past the guitars without picking one up, it is great to see them enjoying it so much.Only downside is I fear I have lost my telecaster into the daughter's room forever, fancied one in a different colour anyway.Give it a try, I'm sure you'll find it useful.

I have picked up my guitar for the second time after a 20 year lapse. I started following DL on a social media platform, as I find his teaching metrology absolutely brilliant . I decided to purchase the beginners book by DL and I can’t tell you how simple and intuitive this book is . He simplified the structure of learning the guitar for every age group , regardless of where you are on your journey you will learn something you didn’t know or wasn’t taught before. The information is easy to follow and understand and would be the ideal companion for any new learner. The author brings himself down to the level of the student, providing reassurance and clarity.

I have been playing guitar for many years. I have had different teachers and read other books about acoustic guitar. When The Beginner Guitarist Playbook arrived, I was first impressed by the book's layout. I love the color and big print. The book is not cluttered or overwhelming. I love the Scan Me located throughout the book. This takes you to a YouTube video. This is a great addition to the book. The book is full of diagrams to help illustrate the point. This is an excellent tool to add to my guitar toolbox.

This book shows in simplified form how to play shapes(chords). It opens up the fret board and shows by using one chord shape how it can be moved up and down the fret board to play other chords without changing the shape. Many other tricks in the book. Highly rate getting if you are stuck in a rut playing the guitar. It provides many other ideas to play guitar easier. Has really helped me understand the fretboard.

J'arrive à comprendre beaucoup mieux la guitare et comment l'ensemble des notes, cordes et formes sont liés. Une ressource sur laquelle on ne peut pas s'en passer ! Den, le prof, il prend le temps d'expliquer sans se rendre dans des détails qui dépassent largement l'apprenti ou l'intermédiaire de la guitare. En plus il présente ses cours avec un grand enthousiasme. BRAVO! Pour cette raison je viens de m'acheter ce petit livre qui suit exactement le même mindset. Une vraie pépite 👍 Si tu veux apprendre la guitare ou simplement mieux comprendre ton instrument, n'hésites pas! Ça vaut le coût 👌

Ich bin über die Facebook-Videos von Den López auf dieses Buch aufmerksam geworden. Den Lopez erklärt mit anderen, einfachen aber logischen Methoden das Gitarrenspiel. Für fortgeschrittene Gitarristen werden einige Methoden nichts neues sein, dennoch lohnt sich auch für sie ein Blick ins Buch. Für Anfänger ist dieses Buch empfehlenswert, da man auf Ansätze aufmerksam gemacht wird, die einem angehenden Gitarristen normalerweise erst später klar werden. Zusätzlich gibt es in dem Buch noch nützliche Tips und Tricks um das ganze Griffbrett ins Gitarrenspiel einzubeziehen (Akkordbildung, Solospiel). Dazu lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall, sich zusätzlich auch die Videos und Webseite von Den Lopez anzusehen.
