beautiful
I love this book!Nice to see all those beautiful covers of (some) rare reggae albums from Studio one!The album art is divided into 5 sections:- artists- dub- showcase (various artists albums)- calypso- gospelIt's nice to see some albums I own being portrayed here, but even nicer to see the covers of rare albums that are hard to find! The book is BIG! All album covers are presented in actual lp size!Recommended!

Absolutely STUNNING
This book does for the highly deserving Studio One and reggae music what a book like The Cover Art of Blue Note Records did for the Blue Note label and jazz music; It is a stunning monograph produced by the label itself and has therefore been made with great love and all the insider knowledge not to mention access to high quality images that grace the huge square pages of this book. Hypergallery have a lot of books on album cover art and this one stands out - I really can't recommend this highly enough.

What a great and enjoyable book this is!Well, okay, you can rumble through your vinyl-collection (if you have one) and put all covers one by one together in a different and more coherent style and you may be in the position to add more original covers than shown here, but this book puts it all together in an almost perfect way.Studio One being THE Jamaican record label wich you can identify by its cover art, and it doesn't matter if the record is from the 1960's, 1970's, 1980's or later, here they are (almost all of them), presented in a beautiful way.Mr.Dodd (the label owner and one of the most missed persons in the music industry) would have been very proud of it.Worth its weight in gold (and it has some kilos).
