Product Description When he was 20, Dante Nesti started making soap at home in a small 50 litre cauldron. Just three years later in 1945, he founded his soapmaking company based in Florence.Today Nesti Dante managed by his son, Roberto is one of the few industrial scale companies in the world, which still produces soap with the traditional craftsmen's methods. It strictly follows the traditional process of boiling the soap paste in large cauldrons for several days under the constant supervision of master soapmakers and perfumers, who monitor the various phases of the saponification production. Special attention is paid to the tiniest details and only carefully selected top quality raw materials that are free of synthetic surfactants are used to produce richer and more softening soaps. A QUALITY SOAP
I can say only good things about the Rose and Peony soap: good value, bath sized (I have halved it for the wash basin), lathers well, has not gone soggy, is lasting well and, above all, has a wonderful perfume - not overpowering, but definitely a lovely, subtle scent as you wash your hands. This is what I want from a soap. I have been happy in the past to pay more than this for a quality soap, and am delighted now to have discovered Nesti Dante. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely but expensive
Lovely perfume for an occasional treat but too expensive to buy on a regular basis. The bar is quite big - too big to use comfortably and so I cut it in half, but in so doing I lost a fair bit of it due to crumbling. So really it would be better if it was a smaller bar to begin with at a much lesser cost.

I have allergies & very sensitive skin, so its very hard to find soap in the store that doesn't make me itch like crazy. I need a soap without all the additives & decided to check on Amazon to see if I could find a more natural soap. There were so many to choose from on Amazon, but after reading about Nesti Dante Soap & seeing how great the reviews were, I decided to give it a try. And, I'm so thankful I did!! It did not make me itch & made my skin feel so soft. And the smell is amazing!! All evening I kept smelling my arms because the soap left my skin smelling so good! Lol
