This is the best pizza wheel on the market
Update on 12/24/2018: I still love this pizza cutter! I've used it almost every day since the day I posted this review, and so yes that means I have cleaned it that many times as well and there's still absolutely no rust or any other issues. I'm able to avoid rust because I make sure it's completely dry when I'm done cleaning it (which isn't hard to do at all). The only reason I'm mentioning this is, I see others reporting problems with theirs rusting, and just as I suspected it's because they don't make sure it's completely dry when they are done cleaning it. I bought the Dexter Russell P177A to replace the KitchenAid Pizza Wheel (https://www.amazon.com/KitchenAid-KC113OHOBA-Pizza-Wheel-Black/dp/B000W7FGFA). I've had the KitchenAid pizza cutter for many years, possibly 10 or more. The only reason why I'm replacing the KitchenAid Pizza Wheel is, water gets inside the handle because it's a 3-piece handle. It has one piece for the blade holder and finger guard, another for the main part of the handle, and then a 3rd piece for the big silver logo section. So, water gets in where the main part meets the part for the blade holder and finger guard which is very difficult to avoid, and it will also get in where the main part meets the silver logo part if I decide to clean the entire handle. I'm absolutely tired of this! I am otherwise very happy with it. Even to this day it still performs quite well for being old. If the handle were waterproof or if it were a solid 1-piece design, I wouldn't have had any desire to replace it. So, I shopped around in an effort to find the absolute best pizza wheel type of cutter that has a solid 1-piece handle, much like this Dexter Russel pizza cutter as well as several others that look very similar. (some look identical) There are 5 reasons I chose the Dexter Russel P177A over all the others I found: 1. It's made in the U.S.A. 2. It has the best reviews 3. It has the NSF Certification because of the perfect impervious and sanitary blade-to-handle seal 4. It has a high-carbon stainless steel precision ground Dexter Russell proprietary blade. No other manufacturer makes such a claim about their blade. 5. It has high-quality tough stainless steel washers. The KitchenAid Pizza Wheel has plastic or nylon washers, and one time I accidentally dropped it and immediately the washers busted apart rendering the pizza cutter totally unusable. I ended up having to cut my pizza that night with a knife. All the other pizza wheel type cutters I could find here on Amazon have those cheap plastic or nylon washers. The ones that DO have steel or metal washers have too many bad reviews! I have already used my new Dexter Russell pizza cutter, and I'm extremely happy with it. If I had known that pizza cutters like this one existed, then I would have replaced my KitchenAid Pizza Wheel a long time ago. It is a crappy pizza cutter in comparison to this Dexter Russell pizza cutter. I would never be surprised to see any pizza restaurant relying on this pizza cutter. Everything just screams "the best", from the comfortable handle to the size of the wheel to the cutting performance of the wheel to the toughness of the design thanks to using tough steel washers. The blade is also extremely sharp and very hard, which results in amazing cutting performance. I also love that the blade doesn't reflect like a mirror. Instead, it looks like a precision-machined circular saw blade, which you can see in some of the photos of this pizza cutter. What's nice about this for me is, I no longer have to deal with the blade reflecting my bright lights right in my eyes when I lay it down on its side. So, I guess I had 3 things that I hated about my KitchenAid Pizza Wheel: the 3-piece handle design, the breakable washers, and a blade that reflects my bright lights right into my eyes when I lay it down on its side. I am also learning that the smaller size of the KitchenAid's blade (3") results in an inferior cutting performance and speed as well. Everything about this Dexter Russell pizza cutter is far superior, and I'm extremely glad I bought it.

Outstanding Quality. No comparisn to grocery store types.
HOLY COW! So much better then the ones at most grocery stores! Cut is amazing and doesn't push the cheese away as it rolls. Real good quality! The design seems much easier to use because it doesn't try to fall to one side or the other as you make the cuts. Works great! Easy to wash off and it's easy to dry after cleaning making it safe and it has a screw and nut so it can be easily disassembled to make clean as new, making it safe and germ free for the next use.

Solid Handle - Hygienic Design
Very high quality. Does not have a hollow handle to hold nasty bacterial filled water. Sharp edge. Carbon steel. Commercial grade.

Solid cutter
Feels good in the hand, nice weight, easy to use, and cuts pizza nicely. I bought this because I believe this is the cutter I see the Krispy Pizza boys use.

The one that the pros use
Great pizza cutter, this is the one that all the pros use in NYC. Very sturdy, easy to clean, easily cuts pizza crust.

Very sharp, much better than cheap pizza cutters.
Watch out! This thing is super sharp and will cut marks into your aluminum pizza pan. My advice is to use very little pressure when cutting until you get used to this thing. I like the smaller wheel and the overall design is good for long-term durability because the blade is replaceable. No more cheap pizza cutters for me that I have to replace every 1-2 years.

Professional quality at home
I used these exact cutters for years at a local Papa John's franchise, and they're able to withstand a lot of abuse. I would mostly use one cutter throughout a Friday/Saturday night dinner rush (with a few other identical ones for varying sauce/topping choices, i.e vegetarian or dessert). It wasn't unheard of for one cutter to cut 500-600 pizzas in 4 hours. They would all stay sharp for years when taken care of. Having a 4-inch blade is a big plus too. This makes for a smoother and straighter cut compared to smaller ones I've usually found in home kitchens. These would cut through the most over-topped, well-done, thick-crusted pizza with ease. And it would do it all day every day. Pepperoni: the popular topping. If you've cut a lot of pepperoni pizzas, you'll know how tricky it can be. Especially with other toppings. A crappy cutter can often struggle to cut through it. Usually dragging the pepperoni, cheese, and other toppings with it. Ruining the slice. That isn't a problem with the Dexter. As for cleaning. This cutter could probably go in the dishwasher and be fine. BUT- I'd highly recommend hand washing and drying. Dishwasher detergents contain very caustic chemicals which can cause corrosion on steel parts. In some cases, blades can actually be dulled by these chemicals. So for this cutter (just like any other good kitchenware) I hand wash with dish soap and hot water. This is a very easy to clean pizza cutter. It can go from dirty to spotless in less than a minute without too much effort. I like hand drying it to avoid water spots on the blade. But it isn't needed. Overall, this is a very good pizza cutter that should well exceed the needs of anyone at home or even for commercial use. Mine has been just as good as I remembered them to be. If you can't tell, I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good pizza cutter that will last.

Simply the Best
I couldn't stand that the pizza place that I was working for was using a $5 cutter and I bought this as a gift for the restaurant and now nobody knows how we lived without it.
