Insurance to protect my RV's electrical appliances / converter at a great value point
Well built at this price point. The Contact points are all copper and both the female & Male plug fit my Pedestal and RV's Umbilical cord TIGHT (Which is a great thing). The case is sturdy. This is Rated at 3,750 joules surge protection which is what you need for 30 amp 120 volt RV service. I choose this Surge protector over several others in the same cost range because the information is more credible than the others (One claimed 8,000 joules surge and another 2,100 joules....these sellers don't know what they are trying to sell). do a math conversion of Watts to Joules (120V @ 30 amp = 3,600 watts and convert to joules for 1.04 seconds will be 3,744 watts). This is a sacrificial piece of hardware in that when it does it's job in protection a power surge at the power pole it will basically blow the protection circuit inside the housing similar to a fuse in your house or automobile and will need to be replaced completely as there are no replaceable items and at this price point is all one can ask for. Overall this is a great value at the price point and the seller is dead on with product information.

Has features I didn't know I needed
I purchased this 30 Amp surge protector not to protect my trailer as much as protect my house electrical system. I have installed this surge protector on a 30 Amp pedestal at my house to assist my trailer from freezing over winter by running an electric heater on a timer. When I first read the instruction I never really thought of checking plugs to ensure the wiring was correct. I figured most places I go would have professionally installed pedestals for guest. However, having the fault detector installed on the surge protector makes a lot of sense. This surge protector also has a cover for the RV plug to protect from weather elements which do not agree with electricity. You can simply plug in the RV power cord and close the cover fully, this is due to the cover being molded to fit the power plug.I haven't (and hope not to) test the surge protector feature of this device. Although if the day comes I am sure thus device will take the brunt of it. Simple to install, simple to read wire faults, and simple to plug in and forget.

Quality rubberized cord and connections
This surge protector is equipped with a decent shell and outlet cover to keep plugged in without worry of water getting in, and has a quality rubberized cord and sturdy connections. There obviously isn’t much I can notice when it comes to function, as I would have to see a power surge occur without a fuse being blown, however I don’t doubt it will work as advertised and I appreciate the added safeguard in protecting my campers electrical system and appliances when camping.Pros: quality cord, sturdy connections, outlet cover, outlet/power status lights, great valueCons: nothingOverall this is a very good option as I feel the price point offers good value while still delivering a quality product. It is never a bad idea to protect your assets such as an RV, and this one especially as it protects the wallet a little more than others as well.

Exactly what I was looking for
This has a nice thick cable with a good quality connector all rolled into a single piece. The plastic protector cover is pretty thin and seems cheap but it is a little flexible so I assume it wont break easy. That's my only complaint with this. Its what I was looking for.

Nice surge protector
This surge protector is my first rv surge protector. It appears well made and should stand up to years of service. I like that it has lights to give me an instant diagnostic of the power supply I'm plugging into. I also like the chart giving me a description of the different light modes. There is also a light to show there is power coming from the park power supply outlet. My trailer plug has a built in handle to make it easier to plug and unplug the plug. This plug when plugged into the surge protector fits under the plastic flip up weather guard to keep rain or snow away from the connection. Overall this seems like a good quality surge protector that should last awhile.
