Q: What is the difference between the two in the listing?the listing

The location of the clip is different, and the stability of the middle clip will be better than the side clip.

Q: Is there an option to mount to the top of a fence with a 4 inch top flat surface. I don't have a deck railing option here.

We ordered this Deck Mounted Bird Bath NOT for a deck, but it was the best quality & perfect to put on top of a 12"square flat brick which we placed ON THE GROUND where a variety of songbirds feed in our backyard. The birds take turns drinking and splashing safely in this Bird Bath. Delightful to watch and so easy to clean/refill.

Q: How much weight does it hold?

Can't answer this. Mine arrived with a curved, bent bottom bar and wouldn't mount securely on the deck. Fortunately, the bowl fit on a freestanding mount I had. I use it as a bird feeder.

Q: Does the metal material get hot in the sun?

Surprisingly no. I have no problem with it being hot when I pick it up to clean it and the birds land on it with no problems
