Removes rust and dried sap
This is an essential piece of kit if you want to keep your blades in top condition. You simply put a small amount of oil or water onto the blade and rub with this "eraser" and voilà a new looking blade! Of course this eraser will not sharpen the blade, but cleans well from rust marks, built up sap etc. I use it for my garden blades and it works a treat. I have another set of these erasers which I use on Japanese whetstones to keep them nice and clean. This kit comes with the medium grit (white) and fine grit (red).

Excellent 👌 Very good
Really good additions to my tool box, they are roughly right on grit, I would say that the 240 is more like a 360 and the 1000 is more a 1200 but for the intended purpose these are great. Really good price for the two together and they do work. They won’t get all the pitting and scratches out but that’s not what they are for. They are excellent at doing what they are for, general cleaning of metal (kitchen knives for me) and removing small scratches and corrosion. Be careful with your stroke direction like you would with any abrasive. Only lose one star because they aren’t labelled in language I speak so I have to check each time which ones which !!!

Great for cleaning my Japanese water stones
A YouTube video recommended this for cleaning the metal slurry off whetstones when they start to load up too much. It’s a brilliant idea and works perfectly. It’s better than a nagura stone, which wears out quite quickly and is much cheaper. And of course you can use it for eroding rust from badly neglected blades (which is its original purpose).

Must have for gardeners.
I use these on my garden secateurs and shears to remove sap build up. Used with a dab of oil you can keep your tools looking brand new. A must have for gardeners.

Does a great job on my blades
Had a few blades that were old and had seen a lot of use, after soaking the pads maybe 5 minutes on each side - the blades are looking as good as new. Recommend this if you need to keep your blades in good order

Didn’t do what it said on the tin
I was trying to remove some black corrosion marks from an old kitchen knife but it didn’t do the trick - easy enough to use but I have had better results with graduated wet and dry papers

Very Very Good
These erasers are fantastic. I use them in antique restoration and so long as they are used appropriately and sensibly they are capable of great work. A little expensive for what they are maybe, and maybe there are similar cheaper versions that will do the same thing, but for now I am very happy with these and have so far got many hours of work out of them. They do wear down, so will need replacing if you use them a lot.
