Great little adaptor
Should have get it sooner, works as it should, fits my Dewalt cutoff tool perfectly as expected, wasn’t sure if it would fit in my hoover hose, and it does, so happy with this purchase!

Works well when fitted correctly
I wanted an easy way to connect my De Walt rotary sander to my Karcher vacuum. This, with an adaptor to fit the vacuum seemed to be ideal, although quite expensive for a piece of plastic. At first I was disappointed; after several attempts I was not able to get the connector to lock onto the sander. The ring would rotate to just short of the lock position but no further. I contacted De Walt who were very helpful and suggested I wasn't properly lining up the two pieces. They were right, when you fit the connector you need to give an extra push to be sure it is fully seated on the sander, the ring will then rotate with minimal effort to the locked position with a satisfying click. Thanks to Ryan U at De Walt customer services, problem solved.

Fits the tool - but maybe not the hose !
This (obv) fits the extraction port of DeWalt tools perfectly. Ignore the reviews that say it doesn’t lock - it does if you line it up properly. The issue is whether it will connect to your vacuum hose. It’s designed to connect to the large hose on DeWalt dust extractors. I naively assumed it would connect directly to my DeWalt toolbox vac …….noooooooo. Hose end and adapter are identical diameters ( about 45mm) and there’s no (second!) adapter available that will connect the two. DeWalt simply said “oh yeah, we don’t intend that vac to be used as an extractor, so there’s no adaptor” - great ! After convincing myself I wasn’t going to find a solution without trial and error spending more money on connectors that might or might not work, eventually set about carefully flaring the end of the adapter. This has allowed the hose end to be inserted a couple of cm - not ideal as I want to switch between extract and vacuum and I worry the (expensive!) adapter may split at some point. Moral of this story is vac hose sizes are a rabbit hole and this pricey adapter may not be an escape ! But… I don’t think anything else would connect to the tool properly so don’t see a choice .

Probably worth getting
This vacuum hose adapter seems to be robust and well made but I also think it's expensive for what it is, and as a health and safety item I think the price ought to be kept low and possibly even bundled with the relevant tools. I mean - £80 for a multispeed random orbital sander - £18 for this plasti hose connector - it's disproportionate!Moving on, it does lock on to my sander - a big plus as I hate rickety connections. The other end is claimed to thread on to a standard vacuum cleaner suction hose. I've only tried with a recently purchased Henry. I think it would thread on, but, when I dismantled the fitting that couples the hose to the wand (not something to do repeatedly) I discovered that there was a casing apparently glued onto the end of the hose which I couldn't even loosen. I was about to cut it off when I had the idea to offer it up to the adapter. To my surprise it went in quite a way and then seemed to seat quite snugly - so I'm going to try it like this. I've decided that if it proves unsatisfactory I will buy a cheap replacement hose and trim the end, keeping the original intact for conventional vacuuming duties. (I tried a cheap hose on an earlier Henry and it never gripped the wand properly!) Hope this is helpful !

Works Well
OK so it's DeWalt and therefore over priced, let's accept that from the outset. That does mean however, that it fits to DeWalt kit properly without any fuss. The other end fits the hose from a Henry after the shaped nozzle has been removed but the bung is still in place, that means it's a simple push fit which is very convenient. Once the Henry is running there is a fair bit of noise from the sander, the Henry motor and the sound of the air being sucked through but dust removal is excellent. I do not use it with the bag attachment but having accidentally forgotten to switch on the Henry once I can say that dust removal is, as you would expect, nowhere near as efficient.

Engaging locking mechanism
This is overpriced but a vital addition to my dcw210n sander.Other reviews mention "it does not fit". Yes it does but!!!You MUST line up the black oblong on the connector with the dewalt printed words on the connected unit before operating the twist lock action. It will not lock or you will give yourself a hernia trying (I nearly did) if you do not do this. This lining up is not required with the dust bag attachment supplied with the Sander itself.

Brilliant
Bought to use with my newly bought Dewalt Sander DCW210N. Sanded down walls with plenty of filling after removing dado rails. Connecting a VAX meant that there was extremely minimal dust to the point I didn't need to cover the furniture.

Great item, ignore the negative reviews.
For all the negative reviews, people clearly didn't read the instructions or look at how to use this properly. This item has a strong connection to a hose and in my case, an orbital sander or circular saw. Screw the hose in one side of the adapter, then connect it with your DeWalt device. Note the lock and unlock symbol on the side. Hold the back of the adapter and twist it to the lock / unlock position. Unlock first , place it on and twist to lock. It provides a very secure connection that won't come off. If it does, you haven't put it on properly.

Works but deteriorates Festool hose
The product works well and gives a nice press fit with the festool hose. However, doing so will slowly deteriorate the rubber on the festool hose. Since the hose is the price of 13 adapters, I would say this not an ideal solution for those with festool vacs.
