I did read a comment where another person who purchased them attached them to their bike key and had the container open due to vibration... I can see how this would be quite easy to happen, hence why I attached them to my keys that remain in my pocket at all time when on the bike. So to summarise, very good product, easy to remove, reduces volume of exhaust/wind noise sufficiently, handy container, maybe not the easiest to get into your ear correctly (though again, that could be my not putting them in correctly). Are they supposed to be different to typical ear plugs or am I using them incorrectly?** A: Hi Stacey You need to hear other (road) noises to be safe. But these are fab at blocking engine roar Simon **Q: By how many decibels is sound reduced?** A: Before I purchased these I asked the supplier the same question and received a very vague answer. However I still bought them and have been very pleased with them. I use them when riding my motorcycles and have also worn them when helping a friend test his drag bike which is extremely loud. They will not attenuate as much as the best ear plugs but have been more than adequate for my uses, they reduce noise down to very comfortable levels. The big pluses with these are that you can still have a normal conversation while wearing them and they are very easy to put in. **Q: Are there replacements for the little black pieces of plastic in the middle of the earplug that seems to hold it in the ear? Just back from a Harley Davidson bike rally this week and these were so comfy you would hardly know they were in. Extremely comfy fit. Lack of cord wasn't such a big issue but it might be something they should offer as an option and i will mention in the review they've asked me to complete on my return. Easy to put in and take out too. Cuts out the general wind and bike noise but you can still hear talking or sirens (the important noises) thru them. Small, so worth being patient inserting them correctly. *by C***R on 28 January 2019* Being very soft and pliable, these fit well into the ear canal. The filter enables speech and other sounds at a reduced level, but quite intelligible. Very good wind filtering for motorcycle use, and you can still hear the engine and other vehicles etc. I found you have to moisten them very slightly to insert easilt, but not too much or you end up with a 'water seal' which causes ear 'popping'. They are small, so with large fingers you have to be patient and not push them in roughly. Very good and well worth the price. Better in many ways than custom ones, which I have found to be a bit hard on the inner ear. Like others have said, the small 'can' is best kept in a pocket or top box.. not on a key ring..
