I was so frustrated by how badly this plug worked that I actually set up a test to measure it. For my specific stereo, which lacks a ground pin, the Wattgate plug would barely keep the stereo on because the contacts were so intermittent.Essentially the plug is too long, and doesn't seat fully even using amazing amounts of force. This leaves you with very small overlap, or space that the plug and the socket contacts touch. A tiny amount of wiggle on the cable would disconnect my amp. I disassembled the entire thing down to the brass pins and have concluded the pins are too short. It's quite possible the pins shipped are the wrong one's fro the housing.Second, the screws that hold the plug to the housing are too soft, and the matching threads in the housing too tight. At best, using exactly the right size screwdriver, this will let you use them 3 times before they strip. After assembling and disassembling the female end it's going in the trash before I'm tempted to use it elsewhere.
