It can be used with or without the little lights on. It's very easy to clean, and a pleasure to use, as it's not too heavy. The magnipro, magnifies X3 and it's easy to move to the exact angle you require for reading. It comes in a lovely soft cloth bag, and it can be stored in it when not in use. The magnipro can be taken away on holiday, or a day out. If you go out for a coffee/meal it can be used to read the menu. The size is good, and it can be carried in a bag. All in all a very useful tool for reading if the light isn't very strong, or the print size is very small. Many items these days one finds the font size is very small. Would fully recommend it, as a useful tool to aid with reading.
