Lid is plastic.
The lid is plastic and has a VERY strong plastic smell. Will not use it, but the cup itself us nice and my husband enjoys it.

Bad Smell
I was so excited to get this copper water bottle in and start using it. Many of the comments spoke about a smell that they could not get over and I figured I would try it anyway. Well I washed the bottom according to the directions and even after that I could not get the smell out. It was just a gross metal smell. I had to send it back. The bottle did leak a bit when I was trying to clean it. Thy could be fixed with a new gasket, but when paying so much for a water bottle you would assume the gasket would be better.Aside from the smell, it seemed like a nice bottle!
