These are great! The scissors are a little tricky but work good. Great set for everyday cooking.

Reasonably sharp out of the box, these should hold an edge well if high-carbon as stated. The block has a nice modern aesthetic, while having a nice touch of wood along with the handles. The chef and santoku knives are great examples of their intended design, and will likely be all you need for 90% of your chopping/cutting needs.

The kitchen shears cut well, and the knife block looks nice. I’m not a fan of the shape of the handles. Other people say they are comfortable, but they feel kind of odd to me. I can’t quite put my finger on what it is about them that doesn’t feel right though. Even though the kitchen shears cut well, they also feel odd to me. The curved handles are meant to fit in the swell of your palm, but the curvature of the handles is a little much. I’ll probably pass these on to a family member who can use them.

These are so nice, sharp, and they feel good. Really easy to clean but you have to clean and dry them right away to keep the wood in good shape

Quite happy with this knife block. It has a good selection of sizes/shapes, and the shears are no joke. The block is attractive in a modern kitchen. The knives are sharp and easy to handle. Wooden handles are attractive and comfortable to hold.

The knifes said that they were stainless steel but they are starting to get ruste!

These knives seem made well and are nicely balanced. They present well, too. I love the wood handles. I can usually tell a cheap knife set by the bread knife, which is typically thin, wobbly and useless. This bread knife is quite solid and decently made. While I've owned better, I've used much worse, too. I actually like this one. I especially love the vegetable, santoku-style knife. The utility knife and chef knife are also sharp and balanced in hand. I have not used the scissors.While I prefer my carbon steel knives, they take extra care and often need sharpening. These knives allegedly have high carbon, so they should still take a nice edge but not need as many sessions. Thumbs up so far!

I am very impressed with this set. Great value for the price!! Handles are comfortable (as well as attractive) and overall balance is good. Working edges of the knives are excellent (to date) and compete well with a very big name brand set I own and paid much more for. The kitchen shears cut quickly and cleanly through whole chicken. I recommend this set to the home chef. I would also consider the same set that adds/includes the steak knives if you do not already own same.
