Freshness, viability of seed and cost.
I followed the directions on the package. It says use 3 tablespoons of seed in a quart jar. It was so tightly packed it was a little difficult to get out of the jar. I would use 2 tablespoons next time. Almost all the seeds sprouted. They were the freshest sprouts ever. Not like the grocery store ones that taste not fresh. The quality was excellent. I do not have a comparable product with cost, but I feel these are high priced.

Easy. Reliable. Yummy.
Sprouts great! So easy, it's becoming one of the kids' jobs to make sprouts each week.I'm guessing that the people who said these don't sprout for them at all are not soaking the seeds overnight first before starting the daily rinses. I made that mistake once when I was "multi-tasking" but easily resolved the issue by soaking the seeds 10 hours and then proceeding with the normal rinse.

Great sprouting rate and delicious!
Great sprout rate and delicious! I only used 1 Tbsp and it completely filled a quart jar. It was more than I could eat before time to toss the leftovers to chickens. Working on my second sprouting using 1/2 Tbsp.

Excellent germination and flavor
I sprout alfalfa seeds two tablespoons at a time in a cloth-covered, clear quart jar on my countertop, soaking them in standing water overnight first. After that I drain the water, and rinse the sprouting seeds twice a day. After the sprouts mostly fill the jar I put it in the window so the sprouts can develop chlorophyll in the sunshine. We enjoy eating the sprouts in sandwiches or salads, or by themselves for a fresh healthy snack. We had some tonight for dinner, in tomato sandwiches with mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. So delicious! If alfalfa seeds don't have a good germination rate, the non-sprouted seeds collect in the bottom of the jar and smell bad before the others have finished sprouting. I was very happy NOT to see any of that with this lot. Germination rate was excellent! I also like that the seeds are organic.

Sprouted well for me
The seeds seemed to sprout well for me, I ate them on a peanut butter sandwich and they taste great. My only problem is the expiration date. I will have to sprout just about every week to use the bag before the best by date. I realize this is "best by" and not expiration, but who wants to eat anything less than the best quality they can get? I followed the instructions on the bag and soaked them Tuesday night. The jar was super full of sprouts Saturday morning and ready for lunch.
