Good little book nook.
Lovely little book nook. Really enjoyed completing this. Make sure you purchase some super glue. I used 5 3g tubes of it. Also when removing the pieces from the board make sure you use a craft knife to trace around the edge to cut the seal holding the piece in place. If you do not then you could risk breaking some delicate parts. There are no stickers in this kit which I liked as it make the kit last longer. The instructions are colourful and easy to follow. The finished product is beautiful.

Great kit
A few hours of activity, really enjoyed it, quality pieces. Be careful removing them from the wooden sheets as some of the pieces are fragile and can break. Looks lovely with the lights on!

A Magical Book Nook
I loved this, it’s a great fun project to build and results in a wonderful magical book nook, that lights up beautifully and you almost wish you could step inside and explore its cosiness. It’s not easy to build, but the instructions are easy to follow and precise and comes with all the materials and tools you need. Although I didn’t rush it, it does take time to build, but the pieces are precision cut, fit together really well and it’s a sturdy little scene. I’ve since bought two more - more for the fun of building them, but neither has the build quality of this one.

Overall a pleasing purchase
The first kit I ordered didn’t arrive, so I had to request a refund and reorder, which was a bit frustrating. Once it arrived, though, I really enjoyed the build overall. The design is lovely, with lots of detail, and the lights are especially nice. However, some of the delicate wooden parts were very fiddly to remove from the moulds without damage. No glue is supplied, which is worth noting, and the instructions are not the best—but not the worst either. Structurally, the design isn’t the strongest, but with good-quality glue it holds together well. Having built several book nooks, I’d say this is a good kit, though not the best I’ve had. Other book nooks I’ve built excel in a few key areas. For example, some have discreet touch lights on the top rather than a switch on the back, which is much easier to access when the nook is on a bookshelf. In this kit, all parts need to be glued, whereas some other designs use a mix of limited gluing with fit-and-lock pieces. The books in this kit also need to be cut and glued; in other kits they’re stickers, which avoids cutting and gluing altogether. Personally, I preferred the cutting and gluing as it adds to the building experience, though I appreciate that this may not suit everyone. Some kits also include more tools, such as glue or a small hammer. This one includes stickers to secure the light wires and a small screwdriver for the battery pack, but nothing more. One final point: the kit has a hole at the back where a music module can be added, but this isn’t mentioned until you open the box. I ended up covering the hole with a picture to hide it. This really should not be an optional extra or at least clearly stated beforehand. Despite these points, it’s still an enjoyable and satisfying build. The finished piece looks great on a bookshelf, the lighting really brings the scene to life, and it’s a kit I’d happily recommend to anyone who enjoys detailed, hands-on book nook projects. Update-having had this nook book on the bookshelf for a few days now we have found out that if the lighy switch is left on, the lights will go out if no motion is detected! Meaning the lights are sensored. This solves the issue of the switch being at the back. Nice touch!

Great gift for my book-ish girlfriend
Absolutely loved building this with my girlfriend. Super easy to build whilst still being challenging enough to be fun. Build quality is great, shame the glue isn't supplied but it's so beautiful when built that it's easy to ignore that.

For the Price it cost compared to other sets ive bought it the Worst ive ever seen
For the price of this set compared to others around similar value, it honestly might be the worst ive seen, 1) the parts are very difficult to take off the sheet they come in, and the fine piece break very easily 2) the book cover arent stickers and have to be cut out individually 2.5) and with that there are a few that are so small that cant be cut out correctly without losing the detail 3) the instuctions on how to assesble these book are just wrong as in step 5 it tells you to use books 1 and 2 but then in step 8 it tell you again to use book 1 and 5, but ive already used book 1 so i had to make my own using other books but then that cause further issues. 4) in continuation from the last point the way in which you glue these books together matter alot, as there are pieces that go over the top of the shelves that dont fit with the bigger sized books, but it doesnt give you a correct way and you dont find out until your almost finished 5) some of the pieces are just wrong, the cover for the top of the fire place gives you 2 right angle tri-angles but doesnt flip the 2nd piece so it doesnt fit correctly. 6) its missing a circuit board for music and it says you have to buy it seperately, but doesnt tell you what it is, doesnt tell you were or how to buy it, considering the price for this set it should be included, 7) the pieces dont fit with just grip strength, alot of the pieces are so far off measurements that they have to be glued, and if you make a mistake then the set it pretty much over depending on the mistake 8) there is no acrylic cover to the front or top, this just means its going to get dirty and cleaning the inside will be a nightmare 9) the marking on the walls that instruct where to glue the painting and such on the walls are so light that they are barely visable and hard to make out 10) with the no stickers and the pieces getting broken when removing them from the sheets, it took so long, i honestly spent more time making the books, and carefully cutting the joining points than it actually took me to fit the pieces together the things i liked with the set are few but still some 1) i enjoyed the building all the furnature first then putting them all together, most sets you build the furnature as and when you need them but i liked this change 2) the set does look good, but will get dirty without the arcylic cover and will definatly be difficult to clean. in conclusion there are better sets for the same or even cheaper with better quality, definately wouldn't recommend unless you want to spend 3 hours cutting out book covers and glueing them

Beautiful when complete, wood quality not great.
This is the second book nook ive purchased and though the end result is beautiful it is of much lower quality compared to my first purchase and was more expensive, I found the wood to be very fragile and splintered very easily when popping the pieces out, it's best to pop pieces out from the back rather than front to avoid print being ruined I was lucky enough that any pieces needing repaired where pieces hidden by furniture, I wouldn't believe any reviews saying they had it built in a few hours it definetly takes longer than that overall this one took at least 12 hours spread over 3 days, also noticed this one has no dust cover included unlike the first less expensive one (ancient library) but over all a fun build and as I said beautiful when finished I made this one for a friend and she loved it just a shame about the wood quality.

Great little projects that helps develop dexterity and patience.
I recently had surgery on my left hand to remove an arthritic bone at the base of my thumb. I bought this model to help me heal my hand and provide me with a fun way to get physical therapy. This model is a God-send! My thumb is getting a great workout, but I find I am really enjoyed building this model. It has had a peaceful calming effect on me and helped me develop a sense of joy in accomplishment in something for myself. For those who are considering building one of these models for your bookcase, here are some observations that may be helpful: 1. This model is moderately challenging. I’ve found that while the instructions are excellent for the most part, you will need to use some common sense in things like which edges will be visible and how to run the wiring for the lighting. 2. I used wood glue on the model. I built tons of plastic and flying models as a kid and found that while convenient and fast, superglue will make it more difficult to fix mistakes (and you will make some on this model. Wood glue sets up fairly quickly with the materials in this model, but gives you some flexibility to reposition a part if you need to, or un-do a mistake before the glue fully sets. Use the glue sparingly by applying a thin film of glue to the tab or edge using a toothpick. Use just enough glue to hold the piece in place and no more. And always dry-fit each part before you put glue on it. That will help you numerous times. 3. The parts are precision laser cut and clearly marked. Take the time to cut the tiny pieces of wood that hold each piece during laser cutting. Don’t just break them out - you will risk taking off some of the details on the pre-painted side. Gently sand any left-over protrusions on each part so they will look and fit better. I bought a marker for touching up wood and that cleaned up the unsightly marks left by the cutting process. 4. There is an LED light in the fireplace that I trplaced with a yellow self-flickering LED for a flame-like effect. Most folks with some soldering skill and who know which end of the soldering iron to hold can do it. It adds motion and life to the model and came out even better than I thought it would. 5. About 40% of the time you will spend building this model will be spent making books for the bookcases. It is very tedious work, and will really challenge your dexterity and patience. The makers of the kit made building the 70+ books the first part of the kit. The real fun starts when you build things that go into the box. 6. I saw some reviews that state that the parts don’t fit. I did not have that problem. A few items fit snugly, but fit with a little coaxing. Besides, the model is wood. If something doesn’t fit, trim it with your Xacto-knife until it fits AFTER you are sure you aren’t inserting it wrong.😀 7. Stuff you will need: - Xacto knife with a spare pointed blade or two - Wood glue. You could do it with superglue, but that would be like doing The NY Times Crossword in ink. Apply wood glue with toothpicks. - Tweezers - Good lighting - the model is fairly dark - A work surface you can cut or spill a little glue on. One of those self-healing crafting mats is perfect. 8. Enjoy the journey! This is not one of those kits where you add glue to the box, shake the box, and poof-you have a model. Best wishes. If you buy this model, I hope you have as much fun putting it together and enjoy the finished product as much as I did. I hope this helped.
