unreliable don’t waste your money
these lights come on randomly in the middle of the night with no motion when you want them to come on there’s literally no way of turning them on in the daytime. They’re not useful for overhead lights, which is what I bought them for because my garage is dim, but it’s not dim enough to allow these lights to come on even if you plug them in and then unplug them and plug them in. I mean if they don’t work, they stay on for a couple minutes and they turn off there’s no way that you can use them in anything but pitch dark and I suppose if that’s your purpose that’s fine but I would like a garage light that actually is able to be turned on and also motion activated at night, but these are not them!

Extremely bright and way to hot for me to flush mount
Xxxxtremely bright when they say 120 watts that's not like an old school 120 watt bulb !! More like the output of a 500 watt tungsten light bulb or flood lamp. I was going to mount flush on walk in closet ceiling but these baby's put out some heat on the ceiling side. To hot to handle so I temporary hung on chains until some 42 watt from same company arrive. They do only stay on for 5 minutes if no motion but hey when someone can't decide what what clothes to wear...30 minutes on I can't touch the back.

How To Bypass PIR Sensor
Brighten any garage with a set of these. I installed four. No more hunting around the garage with headlamps. All four are controlled by a master switch adjacent to the entry door. The lights come on instantly when master switch is switched on, remain on for about two seconds, then all turn themselves off. I need to move around to trigger the PIR and get the lights to come on again. Need to perform this dance every time I enter the garage. The lights will also go off if there's a lot of ambient light. One day when I decided to wax the car inside the garage I couldn't keep the lights on until I put black tape over the PIR/ambient light sensor. Others have complained that the lights don't always go off when nobody is around, so I like having the master switch. Now I'm thinking I will modify each lamp assembly to bypass the automatic on/off feature and just use my master switch on the wall. UPDATE: Frustration with the PIR sensor has lead me to modify these lights to disable the PIR. Simply remove the end cap with the PIR. This is the opposite end from the power cord. Unplug the three wire connector going into the PIR (some glue may be retaining that little connector). Cut the connector off. Strip the red and black wires and twist together with a wire nut. Leave the white wire open. Reassemble. Done!

Great, bright light
Works as advertised. I didn't notice the light sensing feature that is in addition to the motion sensor, however in overcast daytime the light may not come on without a little help. I just reach up and tap the end near the sensor. In low light it detects motion and comes on automatically. The light is very bright and the auto on/off is fabulous.

Motion Sensors are Terrible
The good: Lights are super easy to install They are very bright The bad: The motion detectors are either too sensitive or just plain defective. These go on all the time in my garage when there is no movement. I have a motion-activated webcam that is triggered 1-2 times per hour when the lights come on and again when they go off, despite the garage being enclosed with no movement. There is no sensitivity setting to adjust, nor any way to operate the lights without the motion sensor SO I'm buying plug-in motion sensors to actually trigger when these lights come on. :(
