The original Colonia is a timeless classic - still garnering fans 108 years later. And while I can't say that all the newer Colonia flankers are as vital but I will say that I'm a fan of Intensa which was released in 2007. It was formulated by two titans of fragrance Morillas (Acqua di Gio, Dylan Blue, CK One, etc.) and Demachy (Dior Homme, Sauvage, Fahrenheit, etc.) - and so it's a worthwhile pickup for any fragrance enthusiast just based on that. Starts with a stunning citrus blast with strong lemon and bergamont backed up by a little depth and spice from ginger and cardamom. There's an herbacious middle and a musky slightly leathery dry down. It leans masculine, 40+ and while it's performance is moderate at best -- it feels incredibly fresh and has a timeless quality to it. Classic barbershop clean scent. I will note also that the bottle I received has THE nicest atomizer of any bottle I've ever had from any brand, etc. You can get the lightest, finest mist all the way to a gigantic spritz with an incredibly smooth and responsive feel throughout the whole press. -- Otherwise it seems like some of these Colonia flankers don't get much love but this one is my favorite that's for sure.

I read somewhere that Aqua di Parma was the favorite cologne/perfume worn by movie legends Valentino, Garbo, Cary Grant, etc. So when I brought some in NYC I was thrilled with the scent and everytime I wore it--which is like everyday--strangers would ask me what scent I was wearing. I've been buying it for nearly five years because from what others have told me, the scent is haunting, fascinating, without being overwhelming or too pungent. It conveys a very subtle, but unforgettable, scent. Anyone who wears it has to be very savvy and unusual to wear this marvelous cologne/perfume.

my ex-boyfriend bought this for me in Paris a few years ago. I liked it, but rarely use cologne. My current BF loves it and wears it all the time. So when I ran out, I looked into buying more. I didnt realize how expensive it is! This item is a "sampler"; appearantly that is a big deal to some people; but the only difference I noted was that the fashionable cap on top is not included. I just kept the old one from my previous bottle.

I purchased this fragrance after sampling it at my barber. There are two sizes available, this one at 100ml and a smaller one at 50ml. The 100ml version is a sampler and is supposedly the same as the 50ml retail version.The one I sampled at my barber was the 50ml retail version and I thought it had more staying power then this one though I may just be used to the scent and can no longer smell it.It has elements of floral, spices, and coolness to it. I occasional pickup hints of rose which should be a turn off for me, it reminds me of my grand mother ;) Yet it some how works and still remains a masculine fragrance.I have received a few comments in elevators that it is pleasant but not as many as I expected.I don't regret the purchase but I wont buy it again. I am looking for something a little more masculine, complex and subtle.
