Review: Everything any woman needs to know about running - I loved this book! As a 36 year old woman who is only just starting out running, I found this book very useful and informative. I read it cover to cover in only a couple of days but I decided not to follow the 'getting started' section as I'm already part way through a plan from another book, however it contained so much other information I don't feel as if I've missed anything. It has all any woman would need to start, and more importantly, continue to run; from motivational strategies and nutrition, to types of trainers and sports bras. Its set out well which means I can dip in and out as I need to remind myself of certain topics. My only gripe (and it is a VERY small one) would be that the section on races lists races which are all over the USA... not a problem to those living in the USA or those who have the finances to enable them to run in the USA, but a bit disappointing to me as I would have been interested to see a list of UK races - but I guess this is my fault as I never checked where the author was from. That being said, it wouldn't put me off recommending this book to anyone.

It is a fantastic bible for all runners (not just women) and although some of the reviewers have said it is too basic, I disagree. It is wonderfully written, easy to read, and very very informative. It has easy reference and structured chapters and has helped me to understand alot more about my mid distance running training diet & lifestyle. I disagree that it is not for seasoned runners, and would reccommend it to anyone who wants to know more about running at various levels.

I loved this book! As a 36 year old woman who is only just starting out running, I found this book very useful and informative. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really informative

Really interesting to hear about the history of women in the marathon. I had grown up watching women in the marathon and had no idea the prior struggle. The book has good training programmes, although is a little confusing referring to both miles and meters in the same program. Also very US centric. It is also a little serious, if you're looking for motivation and humour and advice I recommend " running like a girl" instead.
