Zebra Mechanical Pencil DelGuard Type ER 0.5mm, White (P-MA88-W)

I am a bit of a mechanical pencil aficionado (though not a collector), so this is the first time I tried this brand. Just like with my other pencils I through away the led they come with switch them to my preferred 2B. Does it help keep the led from breaking? Maybe, yes. But generally no substitution for getting your mind right and adjusting the pressure you apply. With 2B you don’t need a lot of pressure since it’s highly visible. Does it make your handwriting awesome? Unfortunately not, years of computer use has made my handwriting horrible, and this pencil is not a magic solution!

I like the eraser function of this pencil. Flip the pencil upside down and the easier will pop out and stay in place while erasing. I been using this prodect for my sketching and doodling, sometimes for writing but mostly for art. Its a high quality prodect and even though the cost is a bit high, it does hold up well. I have had it for over 8 month and only been through one pack of lead. The lead is smooth and also doesn't simply chip away so easily. I have had to only replace the eraser once and it comes with replacements. Overall, it was a good investment and a wonderful gift for those who like to write or sketch.

Both Delguard lead protection systems work great, and it's an attractive pencil. The eraser popping out when it is flipped over is a sort of clever touch. In the long run I don't know that I will be a fan of it since it makes the pencil rattle a little, but it's not that annoying. I write in script, so this is a great pencil for me, but if you use block letters I'd recommend the Kuru toga line of pencils. They are similarly priced and have a wonderful system that rotates the lead as you write. It's not very effective with cursive writers though.

Fast delivery, item just as stated

I’ve had previous Zebra brand pencils before. They all function very well, but this one has to be the best! I’m not exactly a reviewer, but holy curds it’s really cool! A spring flexes with the pressure you apply while you write so that the lead doesn’t break and I’ve found it’s comfortable to hold while sleek at the same time. I have a friend who struggles with gout and carpal tunnel while being an Architecture student out in Chicago. He’s found it’s more comfortable to draw and write with than most—if not all—other pencils he’s tried. Plus, the hidden eraser only pops out when the pencil is held upside-down, which makes a great thing for me to stim with since I’m high-functioning. I love to write and draw with it, and take it everywhere with me because of that! I’ve recommended it to lots of folks I know who could benefit from this pencil, especially students from elementary to university!

This is the second one that I have bought. I have a problem with pushing to hard when I write and the technology in this pencil eliminates it, I almost never break lead anymore. It has a good grip that makes writing very comfortable. As long as you can keep track of it, I think it’s pretty good for the cost

Tengo la costumbre de apretar mucho al hacer bocetos. Suelo usar minas 2B o más blandas y, en cuanto dejaba la punta algo larga, se me partían, con lo cual de una mina apenas aprovechaba una tercera parte. Con este portaminas no se rompen porque absorbe la presión excesiva.

This pencil is so nice to write with! Though it’s a bit on the pricy side, if you have extra to spend I definitely recommend this : )

En sevdiğim özelliği tabiki uç kırmaması. Silgi mekanizması olması da cabası. Diğerlerinin dediği gibi normalde ben de kalemin arkasındaki silgiyi kullanmazdım ama bu kalemde çok kullanışlı ve 2 yedek silgi ile geliyor. Silgi biterse ne yapacam bilmiyorum. Tr de bu silgiyi satan düzgün bir yer bulamadım.

I find Japanese obsession with mechanical pencils fascinating and share that passion. That little marvel of engineering provides two distinctive features: "unbreakable lead" tip and very clever pop-up eraser. First prevents lead from breaking when you accidentally apply too much pressure - the tip pops out and "swallows" the lead temporarily protecting it. The second allows to engage eraser by just turning pencil upside down, and it hides back on its own when pencil turned back into writing position - convenient, reliable, zero extra effort, almost magic. Pencil body is pleasantly thick at the grip position, grip has soft rubber finish.
