I really wanted to like this Wifi Extender, but sadly I don't like it at all! I'm giving it 3 stars, just because I can't justify giving it less. I live in a Pole Barn House.....My internet is great, but I wanted to put cameras outside...so I thought this wifi extender would give the cameras a boost. The out side cameras still only work intermittently! The thing is, my house is only 600 sq feet. My attached garage is also 600 sq feet. The cameras should be getting an AWESOME signal, but they're not. I can't believe it's my metal house, because the cameras worked before, just not a real good signal for smooth playback......with the extender, it's worse.

This is a pretty simple range extender. It has two ways to extend your WiFi. One way is to connect to your existing WiFi network and it will extend it by rebroadcasting the SSID but with "_EXT" on the end of it. This is the easiest out of the box way. Then you can use it as a wired AP "Extender". This mode you connect it to a wired part of your existing network/infrastructure and it acts like an Access Point. All you need to do is have the SSID either be the same as your existing or (the better way) is to have the SSID be the same but at that "_EXT" on the end. Most wireless only devices are smart enough to see the SSID with the extra _EXT at the end and will connect to it as if it is the regular SSID (as long as you make sure the passwords are the same!).I had some minor issues with it not responding or loading the management page AFTER accessing the management page via a mobile browser. Once it is setup and you load the page from mobile it acts as if it is getting setup for the first time again and seems to lose some settings. It presents you with a "Scan Network" option that seems to act like it is scanning for your existing network even after already being setup. I had to reset to factory and re-set it up again as a wired AP extender. As long as I don't attempt to load the management page from mobile it has been solid. I use it for my outdoor Blink camera's that are on the tail end of my original WiFi range. After they connected to this the signal was very strong.For the cost this is a decent little extender and I would recommend it as a cheap and quick way to extend your WiFi Network.

This does not have the most powerful signal, when put at close to the edge of my router signal, when unobstructed, it added about 100' or so using the 2.4G signal, about about 50' using the 5G.Having the multiple adjustable antennas helped direct the signal somewhat. I have some Wi-Fi cameras on outside building of my house that were not getting a good enough signal from my router. This repeater extended my Wi-Fi signal so that I could get proper connection to the cameras.

***UPDATE 12-3-23***Well it's unfortunate to say that this repeater is officially dead. It lasted les than 3 months. When I wanted to start my Christmas light show, i found that the wifi plugs that were using this ap in the yard(this device was well protected from the weather, just in a location close enough to reach all of my smart plugs), all of my devices were unreachable. I am very tech saavy and 100% unable to get this device working. I even tried a factory reset even without any luck. Not to mention when I ordered it back in September it was $54 and now at a normal price of $29?The L-Link WiFi Extender with Ethernet Line, an AC1200 Dual Band Router Extender, has proven to be a handy addition to my network setup. This extender is really simple to use. You just plug it in, find it on your Bluetooth, and set it up from there. We had areas of our house that our router had trouble reaching, and this extender has fixed that issue. It's a good price and I highly recommend it.
