Easier than straploks, better than usual strapbuttons
I have used these for about 25 years, now, and fit them to any guitar I have. Hollow, semi-hollow or solid bodied guitars. I can't rate these highly enough! Less fiddly than straploks. (Cheaper too) Never, ever had any issues with them (even when I jumped off stage playing once).

Planet Waves Elliptical End Pins - Chrome
Strap locks are a must for preventing your guitar from hitting the floor after slipping off the normal strap button...but, they are a bit bulky and they rattle like hell! These ingenious buttons eliminate both these problems. I've fitted them to both my bass guitars and they work a treat. Fitted correctly, there is no way that your guitar will part company with it's strap when in use. A really brilliant idea that works well.

Excellent
These are excellent - I got a used custom shop Gibson Les Paul Custom and someone had fitted nickel schallers - a travesty! Put these on and all is right with the world.

Re make of a 70/80 Gibson product fitted to top line guitars
These are great providing you fit them correctly, they first appeared on the Les Paul artisan in late 70s/80s and on all other top shelf gibbo guitars of the time. A strap lock of sorts without the bulk. They should be fitted with the pointed edges pointing the back and front NOT side to side.if they are mounted the wrong way or loose so they spin the strap will easily come off and will help it to come off and are dangerous. This is probably why Gibson stopped using them ,but If fitted correctly and kept tight, it is very hard to get the strap to come off without turning the strap around by 90degrees .If you are prepared to maintain correct fit buy them they are great if not steer well clear and buy the over sized round ones

Strap on.
Good quality strap buttons..but I would use the existing screws as they may be a little thicker or longer as on your guitar.

Beautiful!
As an engineer by trade I can reassure you these are a high quality casting and finished. The oval button makes fitting slightly easier, but more secure (ensure the oval is mounted across the strap). Beautiful!

Strap locks fall off - these don't
What a simple idea that works with any strap. I took the strap locks off my Warwick bass and put these on instead. Happy. (Only issue - you may have to find a screw that fits better when installing them.)
