First off, if your current food waste disposal is not working, there could be a cut off switch on the bottom of it depending on the brand. Often if there is too much stuff in it or it is being stalled by something that gets in there that shouldn't, it will often pop a fuse on the bottom to prevent it from burning out. Not a lot of people know this. That might be worth a shot. Bought this to replace a 1/2 HP lower model of the same brand barely worked anymore. The directions are detailed and I had no real problem installing this. The connections were where they needed to be. The size was bigger, but it fit just fine in the space. One nice upgrade from the older lower tier model is sound. This is not silent, but it is much quieter than my old one and a noticeable improvement. It is just not nearly as annoying to hear. In terms of performance, I think it is great to upgrade to a higher HP model. I saw a video where a plumber recommended getting the best that you can afford in terms of power. We eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and this thing tears up the skins and ends with ease. I personally think it has gotten even better with some time. Almost as if the grinding parts got sharper or something. It used to leave a lot of little bits in there that would get ground up with the next batch. I have noticed that it seems to clear most stuff out now the first time. Worthwhile replacement of the older broken one.

Although it took a couple month to get my handyman to install it, disposal was working for Thanksgiving clean up. At the press of a button, food scrap ground down finely with very quiet 1hp. Motor and sink quickly drained. Takes up less room under sink than older model. It looks very nice, and the price was affordable for the name brand I trust.

The defacto standard in disposals does not disappoint. This little thing is a beast and quiet. There are better units but at a much higher price point for marginal increases in quality. Installation was simple and everything you need is included. I needed a longer tail piece but that's a variable that depends on your own plumbing situation the mfg doesn't control and for a few bucks at your local hardware store it's a simple fix.

Our older model InSinkEreator disposal stopped working so I got this one to replace it. Old was 3/4 HP and this is 1 HP. This one in louder than old, but also more power. I installed it myself using the existing Dishwasher hookup and having to slightly modify the main discharge pipe to account for about an 1.5 inch difference between the old and the new. I had to drill a hole in the pipe for my RO system discharge. You need to buy the power cord and install. Which takes 2 minutes. Overall, watch a YouTube video and you can do this yourself. Tools needed: screwdriver and PVC saw if you need to modify the discharge pipe length, and a drill if you have to attach the RO drain. Overall, great price and absolutely DYI for install.

My old Insinkerator disposal was only 1/2 horse power and stopped working after about 4 years. In looking for a replacement, I wanted something that was a little less noisy. I finally decided to go with an upgraded model from the same manufacturer that was advertised as quieter than the base model. I also decided to upgrade to a 1 horse power model, which had a slightly higher cost. Initially, I was going to drive to Lowes to buy it, but I noticed that Amazon had next day delivery at no cost for prime members. So, it was a no brainer to order it from Amazon. When I awoke the next morning, it had already been delivered. Installation was easy, thanks to the EZ Connect wiring system built into the disposal. It took about 30 minutes. My decision to go with a quieter and more powerful disposal was a great decision. The power is very noticeable when grinding tough foods, it's much quicker now. Also, I can still hear my TV when someone is using the disposal. I am very happy with this purchase and highly recommend this InSinkErator Power 1HP garbage disposal.
